[The man in frame isn't actually quite in frame. He has the device propped against something and the camera is in his direction, but his roommate is out and he doesn't quite have the angle right.

What is in view is the bottom half of his face -- the frame cuts off a little below the lower half of his sunglasses -- and most of his torso. When he talks, he doesn't address the camera at all.]

It's come to my attention over the past month or so of being here that a lot of us from different places. Now that does sound like an obvious statement, but hear me out a moment.

For instance, my roommate knew me when we first met. He'd known me at home, but I had never met him. Or you meet someone almost the same as someone you knew from home, but with some key differences. It's happened a few times now and I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this phenomenon?

my name is ren and i have a couple of questions about house stuff
or finding a place to live in wyver stuff i guess
though if you live somewhere else and want to talk about that then go ahead~

anyway, i was wondering what parts of the city are good for newcomers other than the old city
i know the old city seems to be where it's easiest to get somewhere but it's not really very nice compared to the rest of the city... (Ｔ▽Ｔ)
and it's been a really long time since i had to find a place to live, and doing it by myself is harder because it means i have to worry about money more... ＼| ￣ヘ￣|／

What would you die for?

[There's no preamble. Enjolras is not in the mood to set the scene. He's been thinking and gotten nowhere so he wants the input of others. Over his shoulder it's apparent his room a shambles, a young man living alone with his mind on things other than housekeeping.]

For myself there's a cause that I've given all my life to. It's the highest ideal I can imagine. I know that is not a usual thing. Life is precious; until I woke up here I'd have said that death precluded any second chances at it. But that's beside the point.

I ask because I thought I others shared my opinions. It is rational to give your life only for the most important ideal. Sacrificing yourself for just anything- to get any item or even for another person... [His lips pinch together in thought, his eyes look distant for a moment.] I have not been able to reconcile it.

[A quick sigh escapes him, frustrated.]

I would appreciate your sincere answers and insights. Thank you.

Oh I'm being silly, aren't I? I ought to just go back to Wyverr, properly. I mean, one shouldn't run away from one's problems, should one?

Perhaps I should start again. My friends, Enjolras and Grantaire and I, we'd been sharing one of the rooms here at Nadril. Only they're made for two people, so I've been switching between one bed and the other, since I don't think anyone should sleep on the floor, you see?

And it was fine, even if Grantaire stole the sheets and Enjolras slept like a plank, flat on his back, which doesn't seem very comfortable at all --

Anyway.

In the midst of the clean up effort, Grantaire turned to me, and he didn't know me at all. Not who I was, or that I was his friend, or anything like that.

And it just didn't seem right, to share a home with someone who doesn't remember me. So I've been staying on my own at Nadril. I take the train into one city or the other to help with the clean-up and whatnot.

I should stop complaining, shouldn't I? I'm sure he'll -- he'll be fine. Or he'll have a fine, new life. And it will all be good.

Anyway all this to say, I suppose, if anyone requires my services in either city, I'm happy to come down to you to help with whatever needs helping with?

Bzzt. Your phone is buzzing, but it doesn't seem to be due to receiving any calls or texts. Upon opening your device, the vibration will stop — however, there will be a faint sound of static as you navigate through it, as though it's been tampered with. Anyone tech-savvy would discover fairly quickly that it's nothing of major concern — nothing's going to explode, thankfully — but it won't take an expert to realize that there's something very different about the network.

All names on your contact page have been erased, leaving only unidentifiable numbers and letters behind. They will constantly change, making it impossible to attach these codes to one person.

Some recent posts on the network may also experience this interference: names will be missing, voice recordings erased, and videos so heavily filtered that you would not be able to see the poster's face. Those old messages in your inbox remain mostly untouched, but any incoming messages will certainly be affected by this strange phenomenon.

Not too long into the morning, however, a new voice will appear on the network. The speaker is unaffected by the phenomenon — has she come with answers?
Well, this is unfortunate. As infallible as the Natha claim to be, it would seem that their technology is not backwards-compatible with our networks after all. You may experience some interference with your communications while we work this out, but do not be alarmed. I assure you, this is only temporary.

— Perhaps not. The woman doesn't even identify herself before disconnecting altogether. Well, there are worse things that could be happening, but one thing is for sure: this won't be the last time you'll hear from her.

I feel as though I have failed you all. We all tried, we all did our parts. But in the end my book learning wasn't enough, and I am sorry that I was not able to find a solution to this problem.

I am also sorry I did not take early warnings seriously. There were those who tried to tell us about the possibility of a thing like this happening, and I thought -- surely not. Dragons don't simply return from the dead.

But here we are. Here we all are. The best we can do is move forward, I suppose, in any way we can.

( ordinarily, he'd ask john watson, not because of his medical expertise but because the man seems to have amassed a small army of animals, but john is — unavailable. in stasis.

As I am sure many of you are aware at this point there seem to be quite a few cultural differences here that many of us are slowly trying to accustom ourselves to upon arriving on El Nysa.
One of the more obvious ones is this planets interests in celebrating ones own... lascivious tendencies.
Surely I can't be the only one to be moderately agitated by the constant barrage of aphrodisiac laced trickery, both man-made and natural on this planet.

I suppose what I'm trying to bring to discussion is, everyone's personal responses to what's forced upon us. Especially those of us who live in Wyver who have no way to avoid it every time the end of the month roles around. You know, since it seems to be a time based situation over Olympia's more location based magic.

[Surely he can't be the only person perturbed by all these darn aphroevents.]

While we don't yet fully understand the process, over the past few months it's become clear that any of us could return to stasis at any time. In some cases, more than once. And while I'm sure we all have family and friends from our worlds we hope to see — sooner rather than later — those of our acquaintances from the many others represented here shouldn't be remembered as just faces in those pods.

I think it's well past time we organised ourselves a little to keep track, if only to expedite that process for all of us. To that effect, I've set up a noticeboard for refugee use.

anyway do any of ya have siblings? or maybe someone ya see as one...i woulda just asked my roommate and kept it at that but she doesn't have any
what do ya do if ya get in a fight with em? not a little fight but like a big one
i think i might learn something by asking other siblings and people for what they'd do. maybe it's weird to ask complete strangers this but i just wanna make things better with my brother when he gets up and maybe some of ya have better ideas than me
since nothing i've tried has worked out

hello!
my name is jade harley and i should probably keep this as simple as possible, so i will be quick

prior to waking up after the storm i had a lot of interesting and incredibly cool abilities
i am the witch of space so i can alter space at my will, it is super cool and i do not even need a fork to eat cake with!
these abilities included things like flying, growing and shrinking people, material items and planets
however after waking up i found that my abilities were...........
well altered in some way! :o
it is very mysterious and i am curious if anyone else is having this problem

in particular, i can no longer fly for long periods of time
i also seem to have limitations on how small or large i can grow things
i suppose it stands to reason that after the storm, well...
things would change for me
but i guess i was not expecting this in particular :\
if anyone else has experienced this phenomena, i would greatly appreciate it if you spoke up!

it may also be worth it to consider discussing what kind of abilities we all have
who knows what will be helpful!
perhaps i will keep a little document for our benefit, just in case :)
it doesnt havent to be something impossible sounding, i think even being well read in certain things is amazing!

oh and i guess it is becoming commonplace to say where we are working

Good afternoon.

Since our arrival on Thesa Station it's undeniable a lot has taken course. We're now well into a month on the surface proper and I can't say we have much more to say for it. Well, short of several conversations on murder and questions on individual tastes.

Enlightening though I am sure some of those conversations were, there's also some other things we as a group may wish to discuss. Although it became quite a controversy situation in the end, the idea of preparing for any potential characters who would do harm to not only us Refugees but the natives here is something to certainly keep in mind. As we cannot say that we come from a place elsewhere, where these people had control, it's up to us as a group to keep a handle on that.

No, I'm not proposing a hit list of any sort. That's insane. And given the earlier conversations on the matter is only going to end in people up in arms. I don't think any of us here are under any false impressions that someone is going to stay in the pods up there or we're not going to face something more. And what with the recent listings and those observing our skills it might do for us to know what each other are capable of.

If we have a list we can propose groups for when something strikes again; Perhaps another drop from the sky or something such as combat or healing skills that the natives would misunderstand and take too lightly. Just from the past month here, suffice it to say, some of our capabilities include medical knowledge and strength that may not be common at all here.

[Especially in the former, but she's yet to see people who can stop things with their bare hands recently either here.]

Needless to say this is not at all mandated and everyone has their secrets they do not wish to share, but if there's skills you are willing to share with others and possibly be grouped with should the situation arise I believe now is a good time to do it. A name, profession, and known skills (magical or otherwise), and what you feel capable of during high-stress situations will suffice. What level of technology, if any, you are knowledgeable of my also be of use as there are those who may use a bow, but never more than that and vice versa.

Similarly, though no hit list will be made if there is someone asleep, or even awake, you're wary of or a situation you think may come and wish to prepare for. This can be used for civil conversations to discuss matters or propose what may be done.

As for myself, it would be unfair to request anyone to answer without providing information of my own. My name is Porpentina Goldstein, but please address me as Tina. In my own world my profession is that of an Auror. Someone's equated it to a police officer which will have to do for the easiest description of it. But while we captured criminals we were the first to go to fight against undesirables. I came from early 1927 in New York City, for those whom it means anything to.

While I do not keep up with the social conversations on this thing, I do try to keep updated on what is said. Should you need any help I will always do my best.
