[The man in the video looks exhausted. There are circles under his eyes, his hair looks like fingers have been run through it a thousand times. It takes him a moment before he starts speaking.]
I feel as though I have failed you all. We all tried, we all did our parts. But in the end my book learning wasn't enough, and I am sorry that I was not able to find a solution to this problem.
I am also sorry I did not take early warnings seriously. There were those who tried to tell us about the possibility of a thing like this happening, and I thought -- surely not. Dragons don't simply return from the dead.
But here we are. Here we all are. The best we can do is move forward, I suppose, in any way we can.

[She shrugs after that.]
We'll manage. That's all we can do, after all.

I wouldn't call that failing. [ not yet at least. ]

...
I mean, I guess that works too. [ she still has a lot to learn about people and their way of thinking. ]
Anyway. Hard to move forward with the whole beneath us frozen.

A king who doesn't listen to others. What a novelty.

My brother got more paranoid, as he got older. Listening to every whisper and rumour that passed his ear. Demanding we act on every possibility. I swore I wouldn't be like that, that I would tackle each problem with logic and reason.
Perhaps I should have listened to the whispers more.

I do not think this is a political situation, friend.

Some, back in Europe. I assume they're all still sleeping.

A devastating attack happened. To all of us. Surely that is some sort of equalizer, and we can simply converse as people instead of battling over political differences that are really not differences here?

It may be easy for you to lay aside your former role. It seems to be so. I cannot lay aside my principles so easily. [It's no exactly an apology, but... perhaps his tone is softer.]

You're not the one who brought us here in the first place, or waited so long to evacuate everyone despite the obvious danger. Why shoulder all the burden of the blame?

I think there is always some lingering guilt that I have, having not been able to protect my own people, in my own world. So I feel I must make up for it, here.

What happened in your world?

Because a child was on the throne, the rest of the seven kingdoms also saw fit to start building armies, to fight for the throne in their own way. I was the youngest brother in the family and third in line, and my remaining brother was very strictly duty above all. He believed if either one of us lay claim to the throne, it should be him. And that I should have followed him.
I believed he would have made a poor ruler, as well. He himself is a good man, but he was under the sway of a powerful, very nasty religion. A cult, really.
So I made a try for the throne. I went against my own brother, and was murdered in my tent the night before the battle was to begin. From what I've heard, our world remains in turmoil.
Perhaps if I had tried to negotiate better, to find some peace with Stannis, together we could have taken the throne and ruled peacefully.

How horrible. Are your brothers here?

Our oldest brother remains in stasis. Though there are quite a few of us here, from Westeros, and to me that is a comfort.
Is there anyone here from your home?
no subject
[ she shakes her head at his question. ] Some of my classmates were here, but not anymore. They're all back in stasis. I think it'll just be me for a long time.

Have you met Loras Tyrell, by any chance? He was my squire, and has long been my closest friend. I'm very glad to have him with me, here.
I'm sorry to hear that. Unless they were awful people, in which case I'm glad they're not here.
If you'd like, you and I could be friends. And then you'd have at least one person. Though I don't believe I have your name, lady...?

I'd like to be friends. [ she could certainly use a few. ] I'm Cheryl Blossom.

[ She tries to give it as positive of a spin as she can. Look, she's not the best cheerleader when it comes to lifting someone's mood... But she's willing to try. Besides, if there's blame to be pushed around, she's not going to shove it at him. Or anyone else who was brought here against their wills. This place held a lot of secrets, and this nightmare seemed to just be the tip of the iceberg. If anything, it just drives her forward to dig deeper and try to uncover as much of the truth as she can before they come across a worse disaster than a literal dragon. ]
Warnings about Dragons coming back from the dead is something I wouldn't have taken seriously a year ago.
[ But then there were alien invasions, the world seeming to try and implode, storms from hell... What a couple of months its been.
She sighs, settling back, a somber companion in exhaustion. It would feel hypocritical to voice her thoughts to try and help him not take on the blame because she was all too guilty of that on her own. Pot calling the kettle and all that. Instead, she goes a different route. ]
I'm Lois.

[It was a harsh statement but he wasn't going to hold back what was most likely the case.]
