[The man in frame isn't actually quite in frame. He has the device propped against something and the camera is in his direction, but his roommate is out and he doesn't quite have the angle right.
What is in view is the bottom half of his face -- the frame cuts off a little below the lower half of his sunglasses -- and most of his torso. When he talks, he doesn't address the camera at all.]
It's come to my attention over the past month or so of being here that a lot of us from different places. Now that does sound like an obvious statement, but hear me out a moment.
For instance, my roommate knew me when we first met. He'd known me at home, but I had never met him. Or you meet someone almost the same as someone you knew from home, but with some key differences. It's happened a few times now and I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this phenomenon?

[ For example: alternate universe Matt got his secret identity erased from everybody's brain, so, while Bucky has heard of Daredevil, and even had a team-up, Matt Murdock is a perfect stranger. ]

I picked the name when I was twenty. I thought it was funny.

( time to skip over the majority of the details. considering 'meeting someone at the wrong time in their life' is pretty much her entire marriage-- )
If they wake they wouldn't know who I am -- I know them but they won't have met me yet.

Listen, he just likes to multi-task. All you kids and your fancy video-conferencing clearly don't have better things to do. He does! ]
I mean it's not like I'm an expert on it, the science is not exactly my area -- but the whole... alternate versions thing happened to me before. Met weird alternate versions of my friends. Even found a dead version of myself, once. That was pretty creepy.
[ Seeing yourself dead is definitely creepy! ]

Though if you want some real old-schoolers to talk to your best bet is speaking with some of the original residents of Nadril.

And then it hit him all at once.]
... Matt?
Is that you?
[You got a new roommate? Is that what happened to you after all this time???]

I'm so sorry, I don't recognize your voice. Have we met?

You're kidding, right? We've been rooming together on and off for nearly a half a year now. Don't tell me you really did forget?
[He said he was only here for a month or so as well. But that couldn't be right. It looked like the same Matt he had been in contact with for well near a year now.]
We last met up during the formation of the coalition? Does that ring any bells?
no subject
[Matt sighs and draws a hand over his face, shaking his head a little] I don't know what coalition you mean.
I wish I could be the Matt you knew. I'm sorry I'm not.

Wow. So you really don't remember, huh? So I guess you're really not the same guy.
Well, this is kind of awkward.
[Also kind of sad. Made him realize how much he missed having the guy about.]

So people that you knew, but from different points in time. With different memories, I assume?

[She starts to type MY FRIEND but then thinks better of it.] A girl from my world, Clarke? She doesn't remember anything that's happened in the past... five or so years?

So like... people always know their friends from different times or universes or stuff like that?

[ kirk and scotty were not as history recorded them, seeing as her history was not their own. they were from an alternate, parallel timeline. ]

[ more or less. she's leaving out the alternate timeline part. it's not her story to tell, and much would be the same with or without the divergence. ]
Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to discuss some of my other experiences. Temporal incidents are a classified matter.
