I feel like every time I use this thing it's something like this, isn't it?

[Claire's in front of the camera that's set on something, just so she can step back and motion at what once was her up-and-coming clinic. It still is, but... the holes in the ceiling and that collapsed wall that sent her medicine cabinet to the floor is a bit of a set back.

At least the roof isn't about to cave in. Probably. She glances up at a creak before looking back to the screen.]

My clinic's taken some damage, but not as much as the Sanctuary. If anyone would be so kind as to help me, be it medically or by doing some heavy lifting, we can set up some cots and treat people here. It's not a lot of space, but we can set up outside as well, and go out to those that aren't able to make the journey. Any and all help would be appreciated, and please feel free to discuss among yourselves if you've got any helpful ideas. Now's the time.

[It's sort of like the riots. But there wasn't a giant stone reminder of how they almost got destroyed looming in the sky.

Claire takes a breath before carrying on.]

I would also ask those who are able to help with the recovery and removal of bodies do so. With all the time... travel [was that a wince?] I don't know if we'll be dealing with rotting and festering corpses in the next few hours or not. People need to be returned to their families and properly buried.

Thank you.

You know, with all the tension that's going on right now, I almost forgot that if my world was still around. it'll have been forty one years since D-Day. June 6th, 1944.

[ and that's a lie. he definitely wouldn't forget that day.

what's D-day, you might ask, if you're not from Earth, or it hasn't happened for you yet? well... to boil it down to the simplest (and perhaps slightly tinged with Soviet Propaganda) terms... ]

Back then, a country called the Soviet Union was about three years into what they called "The Great Patriotic War". Millions of their soldiers died on the front lines as they fought a war that would determine the fate of the world. On the Continent, they stood alone. That isn't to say that they didn't have allies, far from it. But those allies were across oceans and seas, and the only help that they might've look for that was a little closer had long since rolled over and admitted defeat. At least until D-Day, that is.

With international cooperation, the Soviet Union's distant allies were finally able to breach their enemies' defences, storming their beaches and opening up a second front. Heroes were made, and lifelong friendships were forged. Hell, even the French were finally able to take back their country. And one rumour has it that a kid or two was even born on the very beaches that they stormed.

[ well... just one kid. ]

Until, of course, the tide shifted, and a different kind of war began, where old friends became enemies, and killed each other for their distant leaders. But that's a story for another time.

[ after all, there's only so much you can oversimplify 20th century geopolitics. ]

I know when we first woke up, there were plenty of us from Earth, but I'm curious as to how many of us actually remember D-Day. Or, the Great Patriotic War, for that matter. How much do we really know about the people we talk to each day?

[ is he going to provide more information? no. does he care if anyone catches on? well... that'll be interesting if they do.

while he hasn't exactly been one for birthdays, he is interested to see if others might pick up on the post's deeper meaning. ]

This is Queen Anora of Ferelden.

I am not delusional. The lack of a country to rule puts me out of a job. But as a country is not geography, I would like to know whether any Fereldans who survived are currently out of stasis. I have no political power, but I can at least serve as an advocate in these difficult times. I know the proper channels and I'm an excellent negotiator, as you well know.

For the rest of you, I am a volunteer aiding the sick. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

Is... is this thing on? [Excuse the uh, distinct sound of someone tapping a screen like an old person.] Hello? Oh! There you are. Excellent.

So, now that we've gotten the world's-- sorry, the universe's biggest trust fall known to man and not-man, I think it's time we start popping the question. The real question. No hypotheticals, no, excuse me, [Dorian voice turning a pitch higher in imitation of... someone? Who knows. This is probably the collective voice of all of you. It's incredibly inaccurate.]

If I had the chance, I'd do it! They're a bad person! They killed hundreds of people, or... or one time they looked at me funny and they had shiny things galore! [ahem] We've all had drama against one another, with no real way of proving they're a terrible person other than the game of he said, she said, so! Let's get straight to it, shall we?

Have you, yes, you, killed someone or... something? Poof, gone, light left their eyes if they have them, turns out they're dead forever or it's like a five-minute deal. Whatever have you; it still counts if they stopped breathing.

If yes, why? Should we all expect a knife in our back? Get electrocuted to death? Be made to walk off a cliff? What are the qualifiers for this sort of thing, really? Personal vendettas? OR... perhaps you were playing the hero. [the deets, give the sweet deets.]

If no, well... I didn't think that far ahead, truth be told. You're more than likely surrounded by murderers, so... what's... a food you miss? Murderers can probably answer this as well, perhaps we'll find some sort of connection. [or, like, just listen to how many people you met have killed someone? have fun with that.]
