Sooo a while back I put in a little bit of a request with our alien overlord hosts. And shockingly enough it not only came through, it was actually what I asked for! Crazy right? Turns out good things happen to not-so-great people after all, which, obviously I don't mean me. I'm amazing.

Anyway what I got was this really awesome game from back home called "Bunkers & Badasses". So awesome in fact that there's still a copy of it even after the universe was destroyed which I feel is pretty indicative of the sheer levels of awesomeness we're dealing with here.

I don't know if any of you guys had tabletop back home but basically you create a character by choosing your fantasy race and class, and then you go on adventures and roll a bunch of dice! Bunker Teams are best in groups of four but being the utterly amazing Bunker Master I am, I'm willing to accommodate anyone who's interested in playing through a short campaign or two. The rules aren't too hard and making a character is easy.

I'm thinking maybe in the next two weeks or so? Let me know if you're interested or have any questions.

It means I run the game--I'm in charge of the story and all the NPCs and monsters you guys encounter on your adventure.

[ And he sounds undeniably proud and confident when he says that. ]

And an NPC? What would she be when she's at home?

That's not... NPC is a non-player character. So basically all of the people in the world not controlled by you guys.

[Oh Prior's the one who doesn't get it, but see if that stops him from engaging.]

How are there people in this world at all? I thought this was something you played on a tabletop, like snakes and ladders?

Which you seem a little old for, but each to their own.

It's not a boardgame, it's tabletop. They're totally different! Look--there's no game board or anything. We play using our superior ability to visualize inside our minds what we want to have happen and then roll dice to see if it does.

Because the dice knows what really happens?

Wh...no--like, we roll a 20-sided die and depending on how high or low you roll, the outcome is different.

Or, no, I don't understand a word, but it's enchantingly incomprehensible. Do tell me more.

[ NO HE'S NOT ALLOWED, Rhys hears that crack and just sort of squints down at his phone, eyes narrowing after a second of confusion. ]

[He opens his mouth to protest but it just lets the laugh out instead.]

Forgive me, I really do have no idea what all this stuff is, but I think I've heard of something similar. You'd be amazed how big this sci-fi/fantasy crap is in certain otherwise glamorous circles. And I am endeared by the efforts to explain.

Is yes master the correct response? Though, trolling is, I assume, something done by the fantasy creatures in the game.
