Sooo a while back I put in a little bit of a request with our alien overlord hosts. And shockingly enough it not only came through, it was actually what I asked for! Crazy right? Turns out good things happen to not-so-great people after all, which, obviously I don't mean me. I'm amazing.

Anyway what I got was this really awesome game from back home called "Bunkers & Badasses". So awesome in fact that there's still a copy of it even after the universe was destroyed which I feel is pretty indicative of the sheer levels of awesomeness we're dealing with here.

I don't know if any of you guys had tabletop back home but basically you create a character by choosing your fantasy race and class, and then you go on adventures and roll a bunch of dice! Bunker Teams are best in groups of four but being the utterly amazing Bunker Master I am, I'm willing to accommodate anyone who's interested in playing through a short campaign or two. The rules aren't too hard and making a character is easy.

I'm thinking maybe in the next two weeks or so? Let me know if you're interested or have any questions.

[He opens his mouth to protest but it just lets the laugh out instead.]

Forgive me, I really do have no idea what all this stuff is, but I think I've heard of something similar. You'd be amazed how big this sci-fi/fantasy crap is in certain otherwise glamorous circles. And I am endeared by the efforts to explain.

I'm sorry, I was only trying to pass a little time. The nights are so long and dark in this place. Thank you for indulging me, even grudgingly so.

Is yes master the correct response? Though, trolling is, I assume, something done by the fantasy creatures in the game.

Well Priorly, it's not weird okay? It's make-believe! Bunker Master just means that I write the story it doesn't actually mean anyone calls me...stuff like that. It's a title that doesn't really mean anything besides controlling the NPCs and monsters.

Prior. As in the one before. And you must forgive my teasing, only you're much touchier than expected. I didn't mean to offend.

[ HE GIVES UP. ]

Well now I feel guilty. Want me to talk about the drag scene so you can be mystified, too?

[ Oh my g o d Rhys has to double-take there to make sure he heard that correctly. ]

[Oh this may not be as comforting as Prior imagined.]

The drag scene, baby. It's a little like roleplay, in it's way.

Thaaat's what I thought you meant. I've mentioned that Bunkers and Badasses isn't, like...a sex thing right? The roleplaying and tabletop parts aren't the way this place makes them sound.

[Wait. You can't see this finger lift in the air but - stop right there.]

Drag isn't a sex thing. It can be an occupation, a hobby or a calling, but it's not something people do to get laid.

[ And very suddenly Rhys realizes how deeply he put his foot into his mouth. ]

Okay that's...yeah. My bad, that wasn't what i meant. It's just--I had some people before thinking it was a sex thing and when you mentioned roleplaying outside of games I just sort of...assumed...

Yeah. Your bad. [That's a little waspish, but there's a pause and a sigh at the end of the line.] I can't expect straight people to understand. It's... inhabiting one's femininity, not quite dressing up and pretending to be a wizard. Though I have met enough trolls in my time.

...Uhh, wow. You really sure you just want to assume what people are like that? Like that first one was my bad for sure, but at least I didn't say it because I was trying to dis anyone. I've had like five people heckling me about being on top of a table with elves at this point.

[priorly]

I can't see anything wrong with being on top of a table with elves. All the ones I've met here have been perfectly charming.

So you're not straight?

Not you too...! Yes they're nice, but I'm not--the game isn't about that. It's about adventuring and getting super-powerful gear and stuff. Bringing peace to a war-torn realm.

But if you must know I am...uh. I mean, I guess either is fine? I haven't--really thought about it too much because it's never been a thing people cared about? Guys can be attractive too.
