Hello everyone, I am pleased to announce that today I come to you with a new option for your cellular devices! While the default chat program is...charming, in its simplicity, I have taken it upon myself to begin programming helpful extensions that will streamline and modernize the system. This update is on the small side, think of it more like an open beta:

Introducing EMOJIS and the easy to use EMOJI KEYBOARD Once you click on the download link below, your device will be updated to have a keyboard consisting of cute little faces and objects, for when you don't have the words to get your point across, or want to add some flare to your conversation.

((OOC: Angels emoiji extension comes with an added bonus, very well hidden and encrypted spyware. This will, if you allow it, give Angel access to your characters chat history and any hidden profile features as well as an ability to keep track of your character in a database. Don't worry, your information will not be sold for profit. Probably. You can post some of what she might find HERE If you don't want her to be able to spy on and have access to your characters phone history or want to discuss access terms but still want your character to be able to download her extension just leave an ooc note in your comment.))

[ That's rough, buddy.

Rhys's guilt over the accidental and indirect death of so many resonates with Angel- She knows what it is. To be a murderer. To obliterate swaths of people into bloody dust. And it may have all been indirect for her too, but it was never an accident. For a moment the guilt overwhelms her so she addresses the second half of Rhys's message ]


Those certainly are...

[ She could be pretty brutal here. She's thinking about it. "Jack was at leas proactive" "Are you sure you're not still the bad guy?"

But this is the smoothest conversation the two have had so far, she has to keep in mind that Rhys is an important ally, and another part of her mind which she won't address knows without him she'll be alone. Rhys remains the only other person from their galaxy that has woken, who may ever wake. Play nice. ]

[ And then after a moment, thinks about it all and goes back to the first part ]

How do you live with it?

Honestly? I try not to think about it most days. I'm not trying to pretend it didn't happen but just obsessing over it isn't going to help either. I just need to be better than that going forward I guess is what I'm saying? I don't know what Atlas was going to be but it definitely wasn't going to be another Hyperion.

[ ...Oh, right. ]

I own Atlas now by the way. Or did. The universe ending kind of closed the lid on that whole...thing.

Atlus? As in the defunct company that Hyperion left in both a literal and metaphorical smoldering pile.

I sort of stole the deed for it from the remains of Jack's office after everything crashed. Which sounds bad but I needed something to take away from all that, and I was just lying there...so.

[ Huh. Angel, if not a little impressed right now at least is taking some joy in the thought of someone not only up and taking Jack's "hard won" Atlus deeds but using them to restart the company. That it was the same person who brought down Helios makes it twice as sweet. ]


You said there were no more surprises. 😪🚫

[ And she's joking but only partially. Seems a this pint like Rhys could tell her Jack's AI nearly made a robot army of himself or that the survivors of Helios's fall became a cult and she wouldn't be shocked. At least not as shocked as she had been at the first few info drops. ]

I forgot about it okay? The universe ended and it's gone anyway it doesn't matter anymore.

[ Rhys is still sore about that, but more than anything he's glad that his friends made it out okay. If they hadn't then all the money in the world wouldn't have mattered a lick; he can replace a company. He can't replace the people he cares about. ]

Do you think if someone like Jack could be brought back, there is a chance good people [ Or companion animals ] could have been resurrected as well?

I feel like anyone has a good a chance as coming back honestly. I mean I'm not a great person and you're kind of an asshole? We're not the best examples of "good people" out there and we still somehow wound up here.

[ Rhys doesn't mean that as an insult either. Yes he could probably have phrased that better but he was trying to be factual rather than spiteful for once. ]

[ WOW Angel considers herself a lot of things, and no, a good person is not one of them but she's also not an asshole. And considering those were the last words to Jack? Not appreciated. ]

[ The half-finished reply has Thys lifting a hand there and wondering if perhaps Angie accidentally hit enter there, so he waits until her final message makes its way over before he responds. ]

You kind of are a little. But I feel like that's a basic job requirement for working at Hyperion. Sink or swim you know? It was the best way to get ahead there.

I'm really glad it's gone.

--Not the crashing and killing people part I mean. Just that it's...you know. Not around anymore.

[ Angel sighs to herself, she can't exactly fault Rhys for things he doesn't know. But still, a nerve has been hit, and her next response remains terse and once again more formal. ]

You really do not know anything about me, or my role at Hyperion.


Or how much relief it brings me to know that it's gone for good.

[ Rhys notices the formality and how quick she is to reaffirm that he knows nothing about her, but Rhys doesn't let it stop him: ]

Well then why don't you tell me something about yourself? You drilled me earlier. How about something in return?

[ Now there's a subject Angel did not take after her father in. She doesn't even know where to begin, where would be safe. ]

What would you like to know?

Well...how about what you did at Hyperion? Since I got that wrong.

[ That should be easy enough, right? ]

[ She isn't surprised, that that's the first place that Rhys decided to go to. Still. Complicated question. ]


I...worked for a special division, highly classified. When I said you wouldn't know who I was, I meant it.

Well it's not classified now is it? I mean the whole universe is gone. You can pretty much say whatever you want at this point.

[ Angel chooses her words carefully. In some ways, Rhys is right. Even though Jack remains alive and present, conscious or not their universe and all the clout he had built up in it is gone. But Angel isn't ready to trust Rhys and show her hand, unfair she knows for all she's asked him to reveal to her, but the information of who and what she was did no one any favors back in their world. ]


It's more complicated than that. Only the highest of the upper echelon knew about my department. It's information that could put both of us in danger, even here.


All I can tell you is that there was heavy involvement when it came to the vaults.

[ She says it like it's super top-secret and cool, and in another circumstance entirely Rhys might buy it. But as it turns out their universe is only one of hundreds, and it currently doesn't exist. Only he and Angie are awake now, and Jack remains firmly placed in stasis, so unless revealing whatever it is that she did would somehow upset the Natha Orbiters who already seem to know everything about them anyway....well. ]

Yeah yeah super top-secret burn after reading, I know. You know that besides you and me and the people on the station literally every other person from our world is dead right? I think you're good.

It is the people on the station I'm primarily worried about.


[ And deep down, Angel is just not ready to confess her sins, especially to someone like Rhys. Who knows how or if he would leverage the information against her guilty conscience, or if he would turn her into a bargaining chip. Jack liked to her about a lot of things, but the fact that he used and endangered her the most after promising to protect her from such things just reinforced her belief that the world out there wouldn't hesitate to do the same. ]

You're right, much of our universe and its people are gone, so the details really are not important about the work my department did. Isn't there another question you can ask?

Oh come on, you pretty much interrogate me over Jack and now you won't even just say "oh hey yeah, I worked in top-secret weapons!" or "I was a spy!"??

[ Rhys may have omitted certain details but he'd never dodge or refused to answer questions. He feels like if they're going to try getting along she should at least be able to tell him something other than dodging almost every question he throws at her. ]

I suppose you could call my work...ECHO surveillance and communications. I did a lot of oversight work, of the opening of Pandora's Vaults.

Watched a lot of video feeds at Hyperion, or......

[ Because he's heard that Hyperion had cameras everywhere but he tried not to give too much credit to those rumours?? ]

[ Helios and anywhere else Hyperion had access too...Man, the amount of people she'd seen airlocked alone... ]


My focus was directed primarily towards Pandora at the end.

[ That must be a depressingly high number )8 Rhys only saw Henderson after it was done, and then almost bit the dust once when Jack vented the power core. ]

Soooo that's a "yes" but we aren't going to talk about that. That's cool. Pandora though huh?

[ Rhys isn't even being sarcastic about that either. It's more of an "oh...yyyyeah that's awkward why don't we skip that conversation." ]

It was less exhilarating than it sounds.

[ After a while, everything just began to blend together, become mundane as she became desensitized to the constant onslaught of violence that she'd witness second hand through her screens. Much of the time it didn't even feel real, and it was easier that way. Until it wasn't.]
