Good evening, fellow refugees. I go by Snake, and for the sake of preserving whatever culture we have, I have an inquiry. It is by all means optional, but I assure you that I have no malicious intent. You may ask questions of your own if you'd like it to be fair.
[He actually has... more than one question. He made a list. Brace yourselves.]
What sort of music did you listen to, back on your home world? Were their many genres, or did it all sound the same? Are there specific instruments, or was it all electronic? If there are no lyrics, how would you describe it? If there are lyrics, would you like to write them down? ... Did you enjoy it, or are you not the type to consume what must be one of the greatest form of art?
[He might be a little biased. He also has to take a breath, after all that.]
Or, if you would like, simply name a specific song and artist. Covers are acceptable.

Especially in the last few years, I probably listened to his tracks more than anything else.
[Mostly because Earth was destroyed and he was the only one present on the meteor really producing anything new, but still.]
But I like to think I had fairly varied tastes, and I used to listen to plenty of popular musical artists from various genres.
If you'd like, I could transcribe some lyrics from something that was popular in my time.
still audio bc it's easier for him
If there were any way to recover those remixes, I think I would enjoy them a great deal. My sister said it was a direction I should take with my own music, but... I did not get around to it.
I would love the transcription for the lyrics, however. You have me curious.
enjoy the text-to-voice reading this then

i dont think i really had a preference, my friends sent me a lot of different kinds of music
whatever my grandpa had too :)
so i listened to all kinds of genres although i suppose i havent been listening to music much since i got here!
perhaps i should change that hehehe
there are still instruments where i come from although they could have electronic add ons
like my bass!!! :D
which is pretty much the coolest instrument out there
as for lyrics well....
what kind of lyrics do you like snake??
audio bc it's easier for him
[He's joking... but is he?? Quietly, he adds,] If you were ever to come by another one, I'd love to hear it.
As for lyrics, I believe songs about the futility of life are overrated. Lyrics about the passing joys of it are much more pleasant, like... how you feel about someone, if you'd like to call them. Songs about running away to happier lives. Songs with Emotion.

Otherwise, I don't really have any preferences. One of my friends listens to a lot of '80s pop and rock, I suppose that kind of music is all right.
audio
That would explain why you made such a reference. He isn't too bad, but he's certainly not the best. Is your friend an... older individual, or simply one who prides themselves on knowing the classics?

That's quite the request. You're certain you'd know just any song that we'd mention?
[Teasing aside: ] Most of the music I've known falls into one of three categories: religious hymns, bardic stories, or bawdy tavern songs. Sometimes, the last two overlap quite a bit.
VIDEO........
[Enjoy a view of his ceiling? Snake just sat his phone down on the table because he's blind and he doesn't expect some idiot to turn video on.]
That all sounds like background music to a storybook tale. So what role does that make you?

You are, by the way, referring to the classics. Classical music is not the correct term for either bands, or... any bands at all. Rock groups are considered postmodern. If you enjoy various forms of classical music, you would be rocking out to Mozart or Beethoven.

Here's a retro classic.
[You know, to expand your musical interests past 2000's Obnoxious Teen Pop.
It's a link. To an audio recording of Aoi belting out the first few lines of this classic.]

[Honestly, he's not really sure how to describe it.]
I want to say the majority of the songs I listened to were some sort of electronic remix? Usually listening to things without lyrics made it easier to use as background music when working, and you didn't notice it as much when you were looping the same few songs over and over if it was all voiceless.
audio
[This is all so... upsetting? Snake is legitimately troubled to be hearing all of this.]
I'm not against any electronic art, but... have you never been soothed by the melody of a stringed instrument? Or exhilarated by the intensity of it...? [Mumford and Sons??? No??? What kind of world is this?]

it's nothing bc he's Here
When are you gonna admit that Huey Lewis and the News write good songs?
sitting next to instructions he was supposed to have his phone reading
[They're all gone now... this is a rude way of saying never.]
Were they on your silly CDs? Now that's what I call... something?
"read me the recipe" he doesn't read the recipe
he read the lyrics to all star instead
goddamn it. also i hate that you did this

Are you doing a survey or something ...

... Rock and Classical are my favourite genres.

[That he's totally qualified to answer, look at his username!]
I didn't get to listen to music very much, except for the music that I play and the things I heard in the worlds I went to. A lot of it was pretty similar. [
Read: Disney]Apart from that, there were a lot of classical songs too, things I trained on, and mostly music I wrote when I was bored. [Which was often]
There are all kinds of instruments across worlds, but technically in the world I was living in I was the only one with an instrument and it's a sitar. The music I heard had lyrics, but mostly the ones I remember are from my home world.
[He pauses. Would he like to write it down?]
I don't think I would, the world was already lost long ago. Unless it comes back, there isn't...much point.
I enjoy music, as much as I can enjoy anything, maybe even more then I'm able to enjoy things. Music is the best!
beyond late audio
That it is. But I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever come across a sitar. Is there any particular reason why you use that instrument...?
better late than never!
