[ After the murmurs of job opportunities began to mix through the idle chit chat of the refugees, Ann wanted to get a few questions out to the people who may or may not have already started work. ]

Soooo... this whole jobs thing...
It's not as easy as it seems, right? I know we're suppose to work our asses off to make sure they keep the people in Thesa safe, but β€” has anyone had experience working with something like... that? Guards, scholars, and uh... adult workers.... It all sounds like some weird characters from a fantasy novel or something. Cliche, but given the past few weeks? Totally legit.

I guess I'm wanting to ask: how are you knowing you're a good "fit" for one of these jobs? Back home, I was...

[ She wants to say model, but she doesn't really give the deets too much. ]

Let's just say the closest I got to any of these kind of jobs were reading Shakespeare in school.

If you know of any normal jobs or have any pointers on talking with the recruiters, let me know!!! My skills include fashion, picking good places to eat, and persevering through unlikely circumstances! o(^β–½^)o

[ archer is probably one of the last people in the world who should be giving anyone professional advice, but here he is anyway. ]

It seems you're taking this a bit too seriously. Ultimately, these jobs are just a cover, aren't they? A way for us to blend into this world and get information. Whether or not you excel at it is secondary. As long as you do a passable job, there shouldn't be any issues.

Though if you find that what you've picked isn't a good fit, you can always just do something else. [ probably? well, he's pretty sure none of these positions involve blood pacts. ] Or... how did you put it? "Persevere through unlikely circumstances."

Considering the...history the Nanjo corporation had, I did see first-hand what science can create in the wrong hands. I'm not much of a friend of becoming nothing more than a common guard either...

[He's not even gonna bother mentioning the whole adult worker thing.]

...preserving through unlikely circumstances seems to be a theme with many of us.

Why even worry about all that stuff? You don't have to work for all those big-shots. Sure you could bluff your way into a position but there's plenty of opportunity in the rest of the city. I've got a pre--ty sweet thing going on the in market right now.

Sure people and cities need protecting but those places also need business right? So there's nothing wrong earning a bit of money instead of going out to fight I don't know, orcs or whatever.

[ she is suspiciously insecure about this... there must be a reason for that, but he figures it's probably better not to press that issue. ]

Look at it this way... during your modeling career, did you ever encounter someone who was bad at the job? And if so, did you immediately assume they were an alien from another world trying to infiltrate human society for information? [ please, please say no. ] Being bad at something isn't inherently suspicious. I think you're vastly overestimating the consequences of failing at this acting role.

[ but okay, he can't help but smirk a little at that last bit. she can't see it, of course, but his voice somehow manages to communicate the smugness of his expression anyway. ] It was one of your vaunted skills, wasn't it? You simply need to put it to work.

[ Stubbornly determined to help as usual, Prompto spends a few moments thinking over her qualifications and the sort of jobs that might fit her here. He'd picked up the odd gig or two over the last couple of weeks to help pay the (ramen) bills, so he can speak from experience. Marginally so, at least. ]

okay, picture this.

The list does seem very limited as of now. My gut instinct is to wait until something catches your interest, but given the need to make money, I'm not entirely sure that's a feasible suggestion.

[ oh okay. ]

At any rate, it's good to see you adjusting so quickly, Panther.

[ ring, ring, ring, your twin tail twinie is here and she has something to say: ]

Takamaki-san... [ She sighs, mostly in disbelief because, wow. ] those are terrible skills and don't get me started on the last one. Persevering through unlikely circumstances? Sounds like pure luck to me.

[ Sorry, but someone had to say it. ]

[Someone else who uses kaomoji. You're her new favorite person.]

I dont think Im a good fit for any of them, really...
but there are other options! like theres a tailor shop in the market
Im thinking about applying there! I really like clothes and costumes and stuff
and Im pretty good at sewing too!

if you like fashion you should look there with me! c(οΌžΟ‰οΌœ)γ‚ž

It's not that big a deal though? I've had to do that tons of times. You just have to keep your chin up, have a little confidence in yourself! Like right now we know pretty much nothing about this place and what's going on. So you should start with that and work your way up: learn what you can and use that to turn yourself into something marketable.

[ God that sounded cool and inspirational. ]

[ Their group of Refugees certainly has the strangest set of user names. But honestly? ]

You won't know until you try. You might believe you're better suited for one thing over another but it's experience that showcases your true skills.

Oh? Then we should work together.

I could always use another skilled tactician to bounce my ideas off of. Especially now.

[ Look, she's just challenging you. ]

Also, [ here it comes~ ] I'm surprised you didn't add that skill to your list. It's an important one, more so than picking out an outfit.
