It may simply be an impression with no basis in reality, but it seems to me that since the Natha have left, more people have returned to stasis.

Guess there might be something we could learn on the station, but I find the Natha are often frustratingly vague. Now that they're both frustratingly vague and frustratingly absent I guess the chance of an answer is even smaller.

That is the likely conclusion. It may be worth investigating nonetheless.

[ You're asking a lot of questions and give it a lot of vague non-committal responses, Nightingale. Don't think John hasn't noticed. You've clearly been thinking about this so come on, put up or shut up. ]

None fully formed, I'm afraid.

It could be a mere matter of coincidence. It could also be that the Natha are not what they say they are. Or there could be another party involved, manipulating who wakes and who doesn't.

But what's the motivation? I mean, I picked up the storm on our long range sensors before it hit. I guess they could have faked it if you want to go whole hog conspiracy theory, but giving that the benefit of the doubt they definitely rescued me and my people up before it swallowed us. So why save people and then manipulate who does and doesn't wake up? If you want to assume they caused it, there's still no good motivation for causing that much destruction only to drop people off on a random planet. Experimenting, I guess? Why experiment to the point that Darma had to kill herself, though? They already seem to know way more than us, what are they trying to learn?

[ but does their having enough have any impact on what will come? that's rarely how it works. ]
