This is the second birthday I've passed since waking up out of stasis in this place. Isn't that —

[ Suddenly, at the mention of "birthday", the Man in the Background jumps up and moves, seemingly hightailing it out the door which causes Waver to whip around and blink, his Profound Thoughts gone. ]

Ah- I hope he put on pants....

[He sure did forget to put on pants before going out. So how he paid for this cake is a mystery. Probably through bartering. Or embarrassing someone royally by just showing up butt naked, not a stitch of clothing on him.

But he has a cake now as he bursts back into their shared home with a grin on his face. Someone looks pleased with himself despite still being EXTREMELY NAKED. (Has it been mentioned that he's very naked?)]

[Even though it's voice, there's a distinct sound of something brushing against the floor. Waver knows by now that it's Dylas' tail. He sounds both a little apologetic and a little surprised.]

[ The thought that anyone would have had something prepared just makes Waver blush. That would be the day, alright. But he's quick to shake his head and pass it off. ]

[there is a note of something in Linneus voice, in his face - he tries to keep it from being a teasing lilt, because it is a genuine question... but he did basically have to compose himself before turning on the video feed. As exits go that was certainly a comical one.]

If it is any consolation, I sort of... grew up gradually for a little while and then I stopped. I can't say I ever really filled out.

[There's several things Law feels the need to react to, here, but one is a lot easier than the others, so that comes first.]

How old are you turning? It's not uncommon for boys not to reach their adult height until well into their teens, despite what people might have you think.
[Well, he definitely seems a lot more like a doctor now than the last time they met. He still looks like he could use a nap or something, but unfortunately that's kind of just how Law always looks.]

Your diet can also have an effect on it. If you're not getting consistent nutrition it can delay growth periods. I could test for that.
[Nope, there's no congratulations here. Birthdays just mean you're one step closer to death, what's the big deal.]

I-I'm not a teenager! I'm twenty-one. [ He doesn't know why he's so defensive about that, but he is. He's glad to see Law up and about though, even if the tiredness is still there. It means Waver didn't just leave him to rot somewhere back when they first met. ]

I'm pretty sure my diet is as normal as it can be. But I'm positive I'm supposed to get taller and bigger than this!
