Hello there! ( the image that appears is of a smiling blonde woman, healthy and bright looking, dressed now in pristine weight to present herself, projecting poise and elegance and friendly invitation to hear her out. her German Swiss accent is quite strong, though, so hopefully no-one is overly attached to their w's. ) I hope everyone is doing well this evening. I am coming onto the network to reach out to anyone I might not have been able to yet. My name is Angela Ziegler, and I am a doctor from Earth. Human, as you can see. ( a light, pleasant laugh and an even more pleasant smile ) You may also know me as Mercy. It's my agent name from when I was in service to a global peacekeeping organisation known as Overwatch.
I'm from the 21st century, so the treatment that I can offer you is science based ( a slight pause here as if she's considering one last time how to phrase this ) rather than magic based, but I have a good deal of practical experience with general medicine so there's almost nothing I haven't seen or dealt with. My expertise is in applied biotics, and I also have experience with gene therapy, prosthetics, and cybernetics, if there is anyone here who may need more specialised care. My qualifications also include emergency and trauma response so, if you ever find yourself wounded and in need of immediate attention, please do not hesitate to contact me. Think of me as personal 999 for refugees!
If you do come to me for any kind of care, I promise to do the best I can help you, while upholding all the oaths I've taken as a doctor to do no harm and to protect my patients. I'm not charging anything at this time.
And, if you'd like to humour me and help me to understand our group a bit better, I have a set of questions: do you believe you have a soul? What makes you think you do or don't have one? And is such a belief common where you're from? ( she doesn't mention religion, because it isn't strictly speaking a religious idea. she's known plenty of atheists and nay-theists who thought there was something beyond intelligence that made people paramount to other species. whether they called this unique internal animating light a soul or not, it didn't really matter. )

video;
A Moogle is a little...um...thing. With a puffball at the top of its head. It sells potions for way too much munny.
[He doesn't know what it is either, to be honest.]
Mm, the Superior named us. I don't get a say in it. [He can't be bothered anyway.] Nah, we don't have that. We're not supposed to exist in the first place. Sounds like something Somebodies have though.
no subject
Now, I don't know what kind of potions it might sell, but a moogle sounds pretty cute.
Superior? Your senior officers? What a serious lot they sound like. ( a pause. ) Somebodies? Is this some kind of rival gang?
no subject
They are kind of cute and fluffy, but they gouge you like crazy! [Stupid moogles.]
They are way, way too serious.
[He hums thoughtfully.]
A Somebody is someone like you. A normal human, with a heart. A Nobody is like me, a thing without one. [He says this as though that will not invite further questions.]
no subject
Maybe they use their cuteness as a business tactic? There's a reason all adverts are with attractive people. Cheeky little things.
( but then, jokes aside, she really doesn't know what to think about that. she's interested in the clarification. ) I'm sorry, you mean to say that you have no heart? What in the world is keeping you alive? Some kind of artificial implant?
no subject
[He looks like he's thinking that over.]
Magic, I imagine. I don't know, I don't think I ever asked. But yeah, nothing in there. [He taps his chest.] It's empty.
no subject
Truly, you don't even have a pulse? ( honestly, this is a miracle, if true. how she would like to examine him! but the look she has now is a serious one, if it is a bit awed. ) Does that bother you?
no subject
[He doesn't sound like he's kidding, because he isn't. They really do have knives at each other's back, just like his Superior intended.]
Nope, no pulse, I need a heart for that.
[He blinks.] How do you mean? I mean, I don't notice it. How often do you notice your pulse? Most of the time anyway, but if you mean do I want my heart back? I do.
Not that that matters anymore, storm and all.
no subject
I notice mine quite often, actually, but I am used to monitoring my own physical fitness.
How could you have gotten your heart back? Before the storm? What did it change that makes that impossible now?
no subject
[Read: He's lazy.]
I...yeah, the Superior said he'd get my heart back. I don't know where it is but I'd guess he does? Maybe?
[He's not sure about that.]
I really really don't know where it is now.
no subject
( well, if he wanted to get his heart back, maybe that could be one? though she is seriously doubting this organisation had anything like wholesome goals. )
...I wish I could help you, but ailments of a magical nature are things currerntly completely beyond my skill set. Did the Natha mention getting it back to you at all, when they spoke to you?
no subject
[His tone remains light.]
No, no I wasn't asking. I mean, it's normal for me. I'm not hurt. I don't understand really how your medicine works but, I'm okay.
I...maybe? Things are kinda hazy and I don't always listen to stuff.
[He looks a little sheepish at that.]
I guess it's just holding out hope for longer.
no subject
You don't have to ask--I would just like to help you. ( a slight pause, as she considers. ) It seems to me like you could use some help in this matter. Getting your heart back seems like a pretty big undertaking for one person. ( another pause, and then she sighs through a half smile. even though it seems she's taking this way more seriously than him, she thinks that may just be because of what she thinks is his age. teenagers tend to be a bit flippant and, in a way, that's endearing. a part of her wishes she had been that carefree in her youth. ) Sitting back and hoping, in my experience, usually doesn't provide any kind of results.
no subject
[He seems surprised.] Even though you know I don't have a heart? [That's not what Xemnas said would happen.]
It hasn't yet, but since I'm sort of at the Superior's mercy, there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. Or I was. I don't really know what to think now.
[He'd be surprised to know she thought he was so young, but she wouldn't be the first.]
no subject
I don't really see how that matters. You're still a person, heart or not.
( she chews on this for a moment before shaking her head. ) Your superior who is in stasis now? He may or may not have what you need from him, and anyway, why let yourself be at his mercy? You should try and see if there isn't some other way. This is a brand new world. This could be your second chance. Why not take it?
no subject
Oh, hm, well it's just that Nobodies don't belong anywhere else and the Superior collected us to be together made a world for us and that's it. We're not supposed to exist so, that's what he did. So he said we had to be with him and I don't know, that was forever ago. Xiggy promised adventure, although it's not really what I thought it'd be like back then.
[What's good about the Organization? He thinks about that. No, none of them liked him.]
I don't know, I didn't like much of it. I liked it best when I was alone with my sitar.
[He looks genuinely bewildered.] Really? The Superior said that...well nevermind what he said. [He'll just be surprised.]
Yeah, he's in stasis now and that's okay for now, but when he wakes up... [He'll be back at his mercy.] Why? Um..well...like I said, I'm already in. If you leave, you're a traitor and I don't want to get myself killed.
no subject
( she considers this information, then sighs. he seems to terribly young to have such a burden put upon him: join and stay so, or die. but it's somehow not surprising. whoever this superior is, he's a pretty typical tyrant ruling through fear. )
Do you think he'd really kill you as a traitor, even with the world so changed? If you found a heart and became--a Somebody, if that's how it works? And you just retired to become a musician.
no subject
I don't know, I was about this big when I joined. [He held his hand about mid-chest.] It was a long time ago. The whole thing has taken forever...and now I need a new plan I guess.
[He blinks and speaks without hesitation.]
In a heartbeat. No pun intended. Half of our numbers were already gone, some of them were traitors.
no subject
A new plan sounds like a good idea.
Are there other members, in stasis now, who your Superior would kill? Because, honestly, it doesn't sound like you should reform this organisation here. And if he's mad about that, we'll just have to do something about it.
no subject
Yeah, but I don't know what that is. [He sighs.] I'm not the plan guy.
[He tilts his head curiously.]
Well...probably. I saw some people there that were gone when I came here, so I'm really confused how they got there, but they were already taken out once, I don't know why he'd like them now. [He taps his fingers, considering it.]
And me, probably, he was kinda pissed at me because I can't catch Roxas. I don't think he was going to kill Roxas because he's special and all, but things have been kind of weird since half of them died. [He huffs, running his hand through his hair.] I told them I wasn't the right guy for the job, but what can you do?
no subject
Making your own plan will require effort, of course. ( part of the same point. ) Your own.
( her tone losses some of its heat as she offers helpfully ) Perhaps they were saved before they actually died. I thought something similar had happened to people from my world.
I think you could find a better job, personally. One that won't kill you for doing something you clearly shouldn't. What if you had caught this Roxas? Would you be all right with his death upon your hands?
no subject
[He sighs a little. Yeah. Effort.]
I guess, but I really don't know where to start. I'll figure it out eventually.
[He fidgets a little.]
I don't think he was gonna kill Roxas, he just wanted him, for Kingdom Hearts. I can do what I want for now but when he wakes up...
[He is sure Xemnas will be back.]
no subject
One step at a time. You have your whole life to figure out exactly what you actually want to do. Until then, just set yourself attainable goals. ( Because hers totally always are. Buuuuuut this isn't about her. )
You tell him you're not interested. And then, when he's not happy about that, we find a way to deal with him. Rather simple, no?
no subject
Um, the Superior doesn't really like being told no. [He scratches his head, thinking about how that would go.] He'd declare me a traitor and there would be no world I could run to. He'd find me. No matter where we are, he can find us.
no subject
Well, if he's going to be like that, then the appropriate measures will have to be taken. You're a person, and you should be treated like one.
no subject
Well, I don't know if we're people. We were, when we were Somebodies, but now, I don't know. Can you be a person if you don't have a heart? [All this thinking is kind of bringing him down.]
Yeah, he'll be like that. He's kinda stuck up.
