Hello there! ( the image that appears is of a smiling blonde woman, healthy and bright looking, dressed now in pristine weight to present herself, projecting poise and elegance and friendly invitation to hear her out. her German Swiss accent is quite strong, though, so hopefully no-one is overly attached to their w's. ) I hope everyone is doing well this evening. I am coming onto the network to reach out to anyone I might not have been able to yet. My name is Angela Ziegler, and I am a doctor from Earth. Human, as you can see. ( a light, pleasant laugh and an even more pleasant smile ) You may also know me as Mercy. It's my agent name from when I was in service to a global peacekeeping organisation known as Overwatch.

I'm from the 21st century, so the treatment that I can offer you is science based ( a slight pause here as if she's considering one last time how to phrase this ) rather than magic based, but I have a good deal of practical experience with general medicine so there's almost nothing I haven't seen or dealt with. My expertise is in applied biotics, and I also have experience with gene therapy, prosthetics, and cybernetics, if there is anyone here who may need more specialised care. My qualifications also include emergency and trauma response so, if you ever find yourself wounded and in need of immediate attention, please do not hesitate to contact me. Think of me as personal 999 for refugees!

If you do come to me for any kind of care, I promise to do the best I can help you, while upholding all the oaths I've taken as a doctor to do no harm and to protect my patients. I'm not charging anything at this time.

And, if you'd like to humour me and help me to understand our group a bit better, I have a set of questions: do you believe you have a soul? What makes you think you do or don't have one? And is such a belief common where you're from? ( she doesn't mention religion, because it isn't strictly speaking a religious idea. she's known plenty of atheists and nay-theists who thought there was something beyond intelligence that made people paramount to other species. whether they called this unique internal animating light a soul or not, it didn't really matter. )

That's a rather casual way of describing a prison, I suppose. ( it's a joke, sure, but there's a note of tightness in her voice. )

You don't have to ask--I would just like to help you. ( a slight pause, as she considers. ) It seems to me like you could use some help in this matter. Getting your heart back seems like a pretty big undertaking for one person. ( another pause, and then she sighs through a half smile. even though it seems she's taking this way more seriously than him, she thinks that may just be because of what she thinks is his age. teenagers tend to be a bit flippant and, in a way, that's endearing. a part of her wishes she had been that carefree in her youth. ) Sitting back and hoping, in my experience, usually doesn't provide any kind of results.

A prison, huh? [She's not wrong, but that seems like a bit more depressing.] It's just a job I can't quit or leave or anything. Is that so weird?

[He seems surprised.] Even though you know I don't have a heart? [That's not what Xemnas said would happen.]

It hasn't yet, but since I'm sort of at the Superior's mercy, there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. Or I was. I don't really know what to think now.

[He'd be surprised to know she thought he was so young, but she wouldn't be the first.]

Were they holding your heart hostage? ( that's certainly a question that's weird out of context; even in context, she finds it's an odd one. ) Because, yes, I think it does. I have been unhappy in an organisation before at least there were some ways to make the best of it, with the work I was doing. And there were people who cared about me. Some good things.

I don't really see how that matters. You're still a person, heart or not.

( she chews on this for a moment before shaking her head. ) Your superior who is in stasis now? He may or may not have what you need from him, and anyway, why let yourself be at his mercy? You should try and see if there isn't some other way. This is a brand new world. This could be your second chance. Why not take it?

Well I don't know, I mean, I don't think so? He just said he'd get it. [Unless he already has it, but then why would he lie?]

Oh, hm, well it's just that Nobodies don't belong anywhere else and the Superior collected us to be together made a world for us and that's it. We're not supposed to exist so, that's what he did. So he said we had to be with him and I don't know, that was forever ago. Xiggy promised adventure, although it's not really what I thought it'd be like back then.

[What's good about the Organization? He thinks about that. No, none of them liked him.]

I don't know, I didn't like much of it. I liked it best when I was alone with my sitar.

[He looks genuinely bewildered.] Really? The Superior said that...well nevermind what he said. [He'll just be surprised.]

Yeah, he's in stasis now and that's okay for now, but when he wakes up... [He'll be back at his mercy.] Why? Um..well...like I said, I'm already in. If you leave, you're a traitor and I don't want to get myself killed.

That's a rather awful thing to be told, that you're not supposed to exist. Even if that's true, you do, so why go about isolating yourselves? That kind of thing only makes people know less about you, and more likely to fear you. Which isn't a good thing.

( she considers this information, then sighs. he seems to terribly young to have such a burden put upon him: join and stay so, or die. but it's somehow not surprising. whoever this superior is, he's a pretty typical tyrant ruling through fear. )

Do you think he'd really kill you as a traitor, even with the world so changed? If you found a heart and became--a Somebody, if that's how it works? And you just retired to become a musician.

It's for our own protection. [That's what he was told. Everyone would be after them, there would be no chance if they didn't isolate themselves.] I don't know, I guess people fear us now. [Since they do bad things.]

I don't know, I was about this big when I joined. [He held his hand about mid-chest.] It was a long time ago. The whole thing has taken forever...and now I need a new plan I guess.

[He blinks and speaks without hesitation.]

In a heartbeat. No pun intended. Half of our numbers were already gone, some of them were traitors.

A bit of a self-fulling prophecy then, isn't it? ( she doesn't hide her critical tone here. though, is she dealing with a child soldier? this definitely isn't a good situation any what she looks at it, so she significantly softens after that, because he still seems young to her. too young. )

A new plan sounds like a good idea.

Are there other members, in stasis now, who your Superior would kill? Because, honestly, it doesn't sound like you should reform this organisation here. And if he's mad about that, we'll just have to do something about it.

I don't know, maybe. I don't make the rules, I just have to follow them. [He smiles a little and shrugs. Not a soldier, per se, more like a member of a creepy villain cult. He's really not a child anymore.]

Yeah, but I don't know what that is. [He sighs.] I'm not the plan guy.

[He tilts his head curiously.]

Well...probably. I saw some people there that were gone when I came here, so I'm really confused how they got there, but they were already taken out once, I don't know why he'd like them now. [He taps his fingers, considering it.]

And me, probably, he was kinda pissed at me because I can't catch Roxas. I don't think he was going to kill Roxas because he's special and all, but things have been kind of weird since half of them died. [He huffs, running his hand through his hair.] I told them I wasn't the right guy for the job, but what can you do?

Hmm. ( if he's going to take responsibility, then, why not let him know how she feels? ) That's rather lazy, don't you think? Living in a way where you just follow without having to think.

Making your own plan will require effort, of course. ( part of the same point. ) Your own.

( her tone losses some of its heat as she offers helpfully ) Perhaps they were saved before they actually died. I thought something similar had happened to people from my world.

I think you could find a better job, personally. One that won't kill you for doing something you clearly shouldn't. What if you had caught this Roxas? Would you be all right with his death upon your hands?

I'd have to say they don't take kindly to anything I think about. They don't listen to me in the first place.

[He sighs a little. Yeah. Effort.]

I guess, but I really don't know where to start. I'll figure it out eventually.

[He fidgets a little.]

I don't think he was gonna kill Roxas, he just wanted him, for Kingdom Hearts. I can do what I want for now but when he wakes up...

[He is sure Xemnas will be back.]

You shouldn't give these people anything. They have no regard for your life, even though they claim to care for your kind.

One step at a time. You have your whole life to figure out exactly what you actually want to do. Until then, just set yourself attainable goals. ( Because hers totally always are. Buuuuuut this isn't about her. )

You tell him you're not interested. And then, when he's not happy about that, we find a way to deal with him. Rather simple, no?

How long do you think that is? [He's curious. What if things fall apart and he can't remain how he is without the Superior or their world? She likely didn't have the worry, he wasn't the big goal kind of guy.]

Um, the Superior doesn't really like being told no. [He scratches his head, thinking about how that would go.] He'd declare me a traitor and there would be no world I could run to. He'd find me. No matter where we are, he can find us.

As long as it takes. ( super helpful, right?? but at least she said she's willing to help him. she's not just going to give him advice and wish him luck. )

Well, if he's going to be like that, then the appropriate measures will have to be taken. You're a person, and you should be treated like one.

[He laughs softly.] Well I'd like to think I was going to live a lot longer, but you never know!

Well, I don't know if we're people. We were, when we were Somebodies, but now, I don't know. Can you be a person if you don't have a heart? [All this thinking is kind of bringing him down.]

Yeah, he'll be like that. He's kinda stuck up.

Well, on the bright side, any time we have here, is time we wouldn't have had otherwise. Still, I hope you manage to make it to a ripe old age. The kind where you actually want to retire to enjoy quiet nights with your sitar.

( sensing that, she gives him the same answer she would have anyways, just this time with a lot of genuine feeling and warmth. ) Of course. You have feelings, don't you? And you make decisions on your own, whether good or bad, and you have dreams and wants and desires. I bet you even have a sweet tooth.

Well, then. We will do what we have to.

[She paints a wonderful mental image, really.]

I don't, actually. [He comments, smiling at her a little.] Have feelings, I mean. That's not something I can have without a heart. I don't usually make decisions, no, but we're in a new place. [He's a little out of his depth, but he'll learn quickly. He's nothing if not adaptable.]

I do have some dreams I guess. [He laughs.] A sweet tooth? I feel like I should, but I don't eat that much. Only when I feel like it.

Forgive me for being so blunt, but I don't think I quite believe you. Is that something your Superior told you? Because I think you should re-examine it, if it is. ( honestly? she just saw him smile. and she's seen flashes of amusement on his face. clearly he's been feeling things. but, that's not the only criteria for being a person. ) But all the same, there are still plenty of other things that make you, you.

Do you eat at least once a day, young man? If you're growing, it's important your body gets the nutrients it needs.

I must be good at faking it then.

[He blinks, how did she know that?] Of course he did. They don't even really like it when I do this, I shouldn't act human, according to some of them. It's just like a memory of how I used to be when I had a heart.

No, not really. Why? [He blinks and looks down at himself and laughs.] I don't think I'm growing anymore than this. I haven't needed new robes in awhile, and I'm already in my twenties. I think. Twenty-one if I remember right.

( is it really that big of a surprise? It hardly seems like a wild assumption, really, given how he's been described. ) So you truly feel nothing? When you think on those memories, it doesn't effect your mood at all?

Well, some men aren't completely done growing until their mid-twenties. ( a pause, and she laughs, too. ) Twenty-one? That is young to a lady like me.

I..I dunno. I guess it doesn't. I don't think about home very much anyway, it's been lost even before this storm. [He hums a little, she's not wrong though.]

...Really? I would love to get taller. Can you make that happen? A lot of people in my group are taller than me! [Seriously, it's like he's surrounded by giants.]

Lost? How so?

...Hah, not taller, I'm afraid. It's more like your bones getting denser, your brain finalising its development, and so on. There are some ways to get taller, but I don't think you'd like them. I don't.

Some worlds fell to darkness. The worlds that we visited, were all affected one way or another. It was different from the storms.

[He pouts a little, awwww.]

I'm only taller than Roxas and Zex. It's not fair. Lexaeus is huge! Hey wait, you're not calling me dumb are you?

( Fell into darkness is a poetic turn of phrase she thinks, figuring it must be something similar to what happened with the Storm. Similar, but different. )

Were the Natha involved that time, too?

Hmm? ( where did he get dumb? then, she laughs, realising how he might have mistaken her. ) Not at all. We just don't get all our brain development done as quickly as everything else. The rest of the body is the priority. It also generally takes until our mid-twenties, too, to experience the full range of emotions and experiences we can have..

Not that I know of, I don't think so. [He's pretty sure this all comes from Xemnas, but he can't be sure, it's too boring to listen to.]

Gonna be a long time what with not having emotions and all. [He smiles and shrugs.] I have experiences at least, I've traveled a lot.

Do you think there's a chance they could have been? Or was it something else that destroyed those worlds? ( still not getting that Darkness is a thing, in his universe. )

...Well, that's something at least. A lot of people never get the chance to travel and see what's out there.
