Theon's betrayal of the Starks led to Robb Stark's murder- they'd been close as brothers once,
but when Theon heard the news of his once-friend's death he carried on as though he didn't give a fuck.

Theon was raised with the Stark family, practically as one of them. Robb Stark was the oldest son and Theon's closest friend.

When their Lord father was killed as a traitor to the crown Robb became the new Lord -
and he waged war against those who had put his father to death. Theon took advantage of his absence and betrayed the family.

So why wouldn't he care that Robb had been killed? Who knows. You can ask him, if he shows up again.

If he could have found them I'm sure he'd have killed the two Stark boys, the two he'd been almost an older brother to himself.

But they'd vanished, so he just picked two boys to stand in for them.
