Looking for someone you can chat with...
You’re now chatting with dualhound ... Say hi!
How come I have to have a "silver turd" and a "blind dude" as roommates? They both suck!
Who came up with this idea? This is stupid.
Might kick them out. They're too noisy.
Does anyone even like their roommates? Mine are annoying. Let's do a trade.

( She's empathetic to girls having to deal with their brothers' stupidity. )

Then I would be glad to stay in your company a while, your grace.
no subject
I would be glad for your company, my lady. We may have to share the bed, but that is fine with me.
( A buffer between herself and a magic user is greaaaaat. )
no subject
I have already met one such person. He showed me a light he could hold on his palm.
Better that than sharing a bed with a man.

( A wave of his stick and she'd been clean, head to toe. As much-appreciated as that had been, it'd also unnerved her deeply. )
For the purpose of rest and comfort, I agree wholeheartedly, my lady.

[ though the funny thing is, she has met Newt, too, knows him and likes him. he is mild-mannered and kind; far too few men she has ever met have been like him.
at this point, she knows better than to ask what else would you want than rest and comfort... ]

( He seems kind; but so had Mirri Maz Duur, and placing faith in her had stolen much from her. Daenerys pauses, wondering if the other woman will comment on her very obvious double meaning.
When none proves to be forthcoming, she adds: )
There is another from Westeros here with me; Prince Oberyn Martell. Were you previously acquainted with him?
no subject
[ she feels it is not her place, to ask what has happened to give the queen such distrust over magic — but then, it isn't like Sansa knows much of magic. the magic in their homeland, in any case. ]
I know of him, your grace. I saw him once, in Joffrey's wedding. We never spoke.

( One day, she might speak of the loss of her husband and son. The Red Priests had brought peace to Meereen; but part of her still yearns for her sun-and-stars and their child who'd been nearly the image of his father. )
Then we are both equally as acquainted with him. We haven't spoken at all. But he wouldn't harm you.
( She wouldn't allow it. )

[ then, after a pause, another text follows: ]
Forgive me, I did not mean to speak out of turn. I... Only, he is a Martell. His sister was married to your brother, wasn't she?
[ and then Rhaegar went and took Lyanna and the rebellion rose and Elia Martell died. Sansa might not know much, but she knows her history, and she can see why Rhaegar Targaryen might not be on Oberyn Martell's list of favourite people. ]
no subject
( This is unexpected, and perhaps even a little touching. )
He was, yes. Do I read aright, my lady — a Stark, having a care for the welfare of a member of House Targaryen?
( With her, she has found some sure footing; a rapport she lacks with her brother. )
I'm flattered and moved. But you need not worry overmuch. I was an infant when Rhaegar was a man grown; I cannot be responsible for things he did or did not do.

[ meaning that she has already won her over in two things. ]
Perhaps were we still in Westeros, it might be different. The North does not take kindly to Southern rulers. But here... we are all that is left of Westeros, and neither of my brothers ever wanted to be king.
[ and here... they don't have to be. Robb is defiant still, and Jon carries the burden of the loss of the North on his shoulders, still. but she has realized what they might have not — that it matters not. whatever grievances their two houses had, they don't matter; what matters is survival. and if Daenerys sees it her duty to be the queen that was her birthright, to have a care for those who would have been her subjects, once upon a time... it is a good thing. ]
If I may say so... you would have made a far better queen than Cersei, Your Grace.
[ not much to say, really, for how awful Cersei was... but then it is not that. it is her, saying that she believes in the kind of world Daenerys would have built — she has spoken to her enough times now to have seen the kind of person she is... and Tyrion trusts her. Tyrion is her Hand, and Tyrion always was a good judge of character. ]

The sting of betrayal can last long, I know.
( She pauses, and then continues: )
Perhaps, or perhaps not. The society of our homeland was a wheel spinning out of control, crushing rich and poor alike beneath its weight. I'd wanted to break it. I suppose it would depend upon the North's opinion of that goal.
( She is no queen in this world, but she cannot abandon her people. Aside from her dragons, they are all she has left. Never had she had a place she could with certainty name her home, and her family is long since gone. If she can right her father's wrongs and ensure their people prosper, well. It is a purpose worthy of dedicating herself to. )
Lady Sansa... ( There's a long pause, because she is stunned despite herself. To read it from a woman whose opinion she is coming to value means a great deal. ) Thank you.
