I’ll not congratulate anyone for the beginnings of this cure.
[ Oh, look, it's that guy who pisses everyone off. The corner of his mouth quirks into a cruel smirk, but his teeth are clenched too tightly and his eyes burn too fiercely for any proper smile. It’s a struggle for him to remain as guarded as he would prefer, and there are cracks in his armor: he’s clearly angry and upset. ]
My sister was among the ill. Was. I have been informed that she has since returned to the pods—still uncured.
[ He tries to keep his tone even and cold, void of emotion, but his voice breaks ever so slightly. He and Asha weren’t close, not like he’s known siblings should be, but it’s a deep cut to be abandoned again, and it hurts to know that one of the few people he felt he could trust in this place is gone. Clearing his throat, he continues.]
Which leads me to the question at hand. What reason do I, or the worried, or any of the ailing, have to trust the maesters here? Healers--whatever name you may know them by. Months, this has gone on, to the point where someone is gone and remains unhealed.
[ He knows better than to critique those who have done nothing but help, but his anger is directionless otherwise, so he chuckles cruelly, and that cheshire smirk widens. ]
They’ve been all but useless.

He means well, my lady. The Ironborn in my land were always better with a sword than their words.

Unsurprising. I'd hope he would have some talent other than being a bloody brat.

He laughs.] You'd hope so, wouldn't you.
I suppose if I had a sister as close to me as Asha was to Theon, I'd feel the same.

He's not helping her--or himself, for that matter--by being this way.

[#agreement]
Don't trouble yourself with this, Willem. He doesn't need a protector.

That's a question for others, my lady. [He's just a commoner, Claire. Like he'd ever tell Theon off for his terrible behaviour.]
no subject
Don't avoid the question. Answer. You're talking to me, not him.
[She's in a bad mood. Sometimes that means other people suffer, too. Poor Willem.]

He bites the snarl back with smile that's all teeth.]
I've seen men behave worse with less censure than you've given him. Nobles in Westeros do as they like.
no subject
This isn't Westeros. [NOBLES. Don't get her started on that again.] We're all on even ground, here. I've seen dogs that know how to show more consideration.
I understand that's what you've been taught and the world you've been brought up in, but a prince is no better than a farmer. There is absolutely no excuse.

If you say so, my lady.

Does he scare you? He shouldn't. He can't do anything to you here.

Do you think yourself to be helping?

What would you rather I do? Leave you alone to be berated without defence? [n i c e s t m a n i n w e s t e r o s]

[ He kind of does, tbh, he just doesn't want it. He's dyin' out here. ]

[ CLEARLY. SEE HOW WELL HE'S HANDLING IT? ]

There's no shame in it, Theon.

I do not need your help. I did not ask for your help. Stop doing whatever it is you're doing. I can listen in on every word.
[ Regarding that entire conversation with Claire, of course. ]

You know very well that there is.

Can an innocent look mock someone? Ramsay's might.]
