I seem to have found myself at a loss.

( going from lady to queen to normal person has been quite the ride for margaery, and in that time she hasn't exactly honed any skills that would be helpful towards living here. hunting, lookouts, fighting - none of those were exactly an expertise taught for the ladies of the land.

the lady-like hobbies that had been taught to her from a young age, outside of the time she had spent with her queen of thorns grandmother, were a far cry away from the many things being offered as jobs here, and margaery had to wonder how it was she was going to hold herself up here. too used to having everything on hand, she supposed she would be, despite the cruel way things were handled in westeros. )

My skills don't exactly lay in what would be entirely useful here. I was raised on more "lady-like" activities - sewing and tailoring, sometimes cooking. I was a... a Lady in my world, hardly a Knight or a fighter like my brother. ( she shrugs into the camera, as though to say 'what can you do'? ) If anyone knows of something that could be catered towards that, a job to support myself, then I would be most grateful.

( there's a slight pause where it looks like she's about to turn off the camera, and then — ) Or if you would be willing to teach me, I am a quick learner. I pick up things quickly and am willing to do most things. Anything would be much help.

Perhaps that is a view I will have to adapt to. In my world, it is frowned upon for a woman to hold a sword or a man to hold a needle.

Though, that doesn't stop some.

I would be most grateful. This isn't something I wish to burden my brother with, and anything you can teach me would be extremely helpful.

Others seem to be quite partial to the idea of another seamstress.

( they were in need of some, it seemed like. though others had already come forward and said they worked as one, margaery supposed you could never have too little when people were going to fight otherworldly beings and even just every day wear and tear. )

If you plan on learning for the sake of learning, don't. You say you cook, so you're already valuable enough in a refugee situation for that alone. There's no use having a total newbie trip and impale herself on a blade just because you don't feel you're "useful" enough.

My home is filled with swords, and I was surrounded by soldiers. Though I did not use them expertly, I was taught well enough that I know how to not kill myself with one. Your concern is misplaced, sir.

Just being able to make clothes, or repair clothing...that's a skill that extends limited resources greatly. You could probably find work with a tailor as is...

Still, it's understandable that you'd feel lost. I think we're all trying to find a place for ourselves, and being forced to uproot ourselves again after this attack doesn't make things any easier.

Indeed. It seems to be quite all over the place, especially with all the movement, getting used to a brand new world...

( the most she'd had was getting used to king's landing, and even then she had a familiarity with the place, even if it was only through maps and by word of mouth from others. this was a brand new place completely, which made it quite difficult. )

It seems tailoring is quite a popular idea. Repairs and new clothes can always come in handy, especially for those who go out adventuring and end up ripping what they do own.

It is a role for the nobility in my world, a title earned and then passed down. I was lucky enough to be born in such a family.

Given the kind of clothing you're wearing and the society you're describing, I'd guess that you have a decent amount of organizational skills and probably more than a fair helping of political ability.

Given all the people and all the moving, I bet there'd be something for you in organizing things, figuring out logistics, and helping to keep a lot of varied people in a tense, difficult situation calm and orderly.

I know the locals are handling most of things, but there's something to having representatives... well, more like all of us. Maybe you could look into that.

That is very well thought out. ( something margaery realises perhaps she should have thought of, though working outside of politics and instead as a 'commoner' seems to be the way most people go here, so it hadn't crossed her mind. )

Would they be willing to have a representative for those from outside of this place? It seemed they wanted our origins to be kept a secret from the locals here.

Even combat that does not include swords is a combat worth learning. Here I no longer have knights to protect me, so it is something I should take into my own hands - quite literally, in this case.
