[ He's done his reading. He's lurked around the Red Light district for answers. 9S has seen a lot recently, but he still doesn't know. It's an itch in his mind waiting for a good scratch, but observation and research hasn't quite done the trick. He's got the basics down, he thinks, but it still seems a little too personal to test the waters himself. Being physical with someone like that? He may as well give a stranger his personal decryption codes. He's made friends here and most people aren't so bad, but the vulnerability still bothers him.

9S is more than a little exasperated with wondering. The world, especially a new one like this, is full of so much else yet there's so much focus on that one activity. ]

Why are humans so obsessed with sex? Aren't there more interesting things to do?

[ Phrasing it like that might ease the "why are you so weird?" "i'm an android" part of a conversation, he thinks, but 9S realizes it's strange enough that people will be confused regardless. This was a terrible idea. Where's the delete function on this thing, anyway?

Sigh.]

At least it's not war, I guess.

I'm starting to realize that. The problem is that the ones who do... really, really obsess over it. There's a lot that humans have learned about and done, but with everything going on here there seems to be a lot of emphasis on sex.

Well. Sex is supposed to be enjoyable. Makes sense for those who like it to go on and on about it. [She almost draws a comparison to hobbies, before realizing where the train of thought leads and catching herself. Sex...as a hobby...nope.] And their doing so hypes the idea of it up for the ones who haven't had the experience.

There are a lot of things that are enjoyable, but I suppose there aren't that many that offer the combination of mental and physical rewards. [ Like... fighting. Except that may just be a YoRHa thing. ]

Hypes it up? Yeah, that sounds about right.

[Rewards...seems like a somewhat disturbing way to view it. But the sentimental part of her decides that thinking of the act as a means, rather than end, isn't half bad either. Can't apply the same expectations she would for a human dude to an android.]

Having different perspectives opens up more options, I reckon. If all you hear is saying this thing is really great, you'll look forward to it. But if you find out about other great things, [see: the other responses 9S received,] even if you're underwhelmed by the first thing at the end, you can still consider different stuff.
