Sooo a while back I put in a little bit of a request with our alien overlord hosts. And shockingly enough it not only came through, it was actually what I asked for! Crazy right? Turns out good things happen to not-so-great people after all, which, obviously I don't mean me. I'm amazing.

Anyway what I got was this really awesome game from back home called "Bunkers & Badasses". So awesome in fact that there's still a copy of it even after the universe was destroyed which I feel is pretty indicative of the sheer levels of awesomeness we're dealing with here.

I don't know if any of you guys had tabletop back home but basically you create a character by choosing your fantasy race and class, and then you go on adventures and roll a bunch of dice! Bunker Teams are best in groups of four but being the utterly amazing Bunker Master I am, I'm willing to accommodate anyone who's interested in playing through a short campaign or two. The rules aren't too hard and making a character is easy.

I'm thinking maybe in the next two weeks or so? Let me know if you're interested or have any questions.

I have never played any game of that sort. Still, young Bunkers Master, your enthusiasm has convinced me to give it a try. I hope you do not mind helping a novice.

Still, somehow, from your words, it sounds as though there would be something missing from my life if I did not, is that not so? [ He has no plans on ruining anyone's life in the next couple weeks so why not plan out to joining some endeavor? Those that join may be of some worth and if not, well... that is just what happens. ]

You haven't truly lived until you've taken on a fictional bandit camp filled with dwarves and orcs, it's true. You're definitely welcome to come play, just let me know what type of character you're interested in making.

What type of character? [ As always, he repeats what he is partially asked as a question. ] I would like to be a healer. [ Good luck, Rhys. ] Is that possible?

For sure! They're pretty much the most important addition to any band of adventurers. Without a cleric or a medic in your team your party's not going to get very far.

I wonder if it is right for a novice like myself to take on such an important role. Still, I suppose that is but my disposition now that I have gotten older. I am someone who would rather offer support to the adventurers that are gathered. [ You know how it is. Sometimes, you just get a little tired from murdering and want to murder quietly in the background. ]

Uhhh...sure, okay? I mean you're all going to start at level one so you're only going to have a few spells anyway.

[ Ohhh man this guy must be like, fifty or something. He is taking this more seriously than Rhys thought. ]

Thank you for your concern all the same. If I am to take those words as concern about how much fun I will be having.

Is there anything you need to know about me beyond that I wish to act as healer?

Not really! Have you ever made a character before? That's more what's important since you'll be playing them instead of, well, you.

In other words, it's going to be someone that isn't myself. They can have any personality that I want, then?

[rhygret]

Exactly! They can be the same as you but that's usually pretty boring since you're already...you. So most people make up an entirely new personality and story for their characters.

Go ahead and give it a shot. You could start with naming them.

A name, hm? I suppose that I could give it a try. Let's see... [ A short beat. ] Kiritsugu Emiya.

What do you think of that name?

[ He's gotta check okay so far he hasn't been super-forthcoming in the imagination department! ]

Alright cool, just checking. That sounds good then! Kiri...uh. That--name. That you used. Welcome to the game!

[ A beat. ]

It's the name of someone that I know. [ Hi. ]

That's...okay, that's a little better but still kind of not the point here, but whatever. I'll accept it this time.

I suppose I am a person that lacks imagination but hope to not ruin the fun.

You should be fine. Just remember it's all make believe and doesn't need to be realistic! It's a fantasy adventure, not real life.

All right. Kiritsugu need not be how I know him, then. That is probably for the best as he was the kind of person that would kill anyone in a party that was useless. Even if he was acting as a healer. [ Even though these words sound like they should be in jest, he sounds mildly annoyed. ]

[rhygret]

Oh...uhh. Yikes? Yeah, don't play that. That's a good way to get the rest of the party to turn on you really fast.

[ Rhys picks up on the slight annoyance and wonders just what kind of guy this Kiritsugu was if that's how he dealt with crappy party members. He hopes it doesn't directly translate to real life. ]

I agree. Yet somehow -- no, it's all right. I'll play him differently than how I knew him for the sake of fun.

Thaaat's the spirit, now you're getting it! It's all for fun. And not turning the party against one another.

[ Please don't get everyone killed in their first battle okay that would really put a damper on his campaign ]

Right. A means to let us all connect with one another.
