[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.

He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.

A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]

To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.

Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.

In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.

[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]

We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.

What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.

Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.

[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]

But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.

From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.

[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]

I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.

It seems to be that way, yes.

[ He listens to her point and nods a bit. ]

No, I suppose we can't but preparing for it would be in our benefit. [ And well...he definitely hopes they can trust the people here. Otherwise, yikes.

But, her question does catch him something off guard. No one really had asked much about it so colour him surprised when someone's interested. He pauses for a moment, thinking of how to best summarize what happened. ]

In my world, there is a place called the Fade. The only way to enter it is through sleep and only mages are aware of when they go there. However, there have been instances where the Veil; the barrier that separates the Fade from Thedas can be torn open to allow people to slip into it physically, or for the denizens to slip out.

The Breach is such a tear, the largest one. It was created by a nightmare from Chantry legend, a Tevinter Magister, attempting to enter a place known as the Black City inside the Fade and ascend to godhood. Doing so however released demons into our world which ran rampant, killing anyone. He was hoping from the chaos, it would allow him to seize control of Thedas and bring back the power the Tevinter Imperium once held over the world.

However, I thwarted his first attempt to gain access to the Fade and I've been ruining his plans ever since.

So in effect, you defeated an imbecile who would have sacrificed your world for a mere opportunity to make an empire built on the backs of slaves even more corrupt?

( She is impressed. This 'fade' place, the concept of demons—all that—is a little beyond her. Though the dead walked in Westeros, she'd never been made aware of it, and remains ignorant of it now.

So Dany focuses upon that which doesn't boggle the mind when she makes her reply, choosing to leave the rest for further questioning: )

I have heard a little about said empire from one who was enslaved by it. Such a place I would have gladly returned to the dirt.

But tell me: why and how would reaching this city grant anyone godhood? It strikes me as odd that these demons you speak of never tried doing so themselves. There must be defenses in place.

[ There is a pause between messages as he reads the first part. No. No they didn't defeat him, but they were close. So very close. There's a sigh on his end but he decides honesty is the best here. ]

He would've lost, yes. The Storm was an unforeseen factor, but he will lose when all of this is resolved.
[ He folds his hands silently pausing before pressing onwards. ]

But, otherwise, yes. He would've returned Tevinter to a time where he thought those lesser than himself to a time when we were all nothing but cattle. Either to serve physically or being sacrifices to some old ancient Tevinter blood magic he loved to dabble in.

[ He does pause however when he reads onward. She heard about it from a former slave? Who here had been that? He'd only met a handful of Thedosians. ]
I agree with you that the trade of slavery is abhorrent and should be stopped but I wouldn't raze an level an entire country to do it. Not all people in Tevinter share the same views as I've seen.

[ He'll be sure not to mention Dorian to her quite yet. He'd prefer this faceless stranger doesn't attempt to murder a friend. More questions, however, and a little more easily answered if a bit thought provoking. ]

To be honest, I don't know. Chantry legend gives us some insight into it. Humans believed that this city was once called the Golden city and the seat of their Maker. The Tevinter magisters however were instructed by the Old god, Dumat that if they were to take the seat of the Maker they would become gods. Upon tearing open the Veil with blood magic and crossing into the city they turned it Black with their corruption and were cast out by the Maker. Some of the legend matches up to what we know, but the Magister we fought against claimed the city was never gold and the corruption was always there.

As for why demons never tried to attain such power you would be right. Something about the Black city makes demons and spirits avoid it. Possibly because the Taint lies there and anything that touches it becomes corrupted.
