01 | Video | UN: Inquisitor
[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.
He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.
A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]
To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.
Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.
In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.
[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]
We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.
What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.
Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.
[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]
But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.
From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.
[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]
I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.
For now, have a good day everyone.
[And he clicks off.]

But the next half of what Taako drops kind of goes over his head. Dental? Costco? The magical items he gets but the other things he's not really sure what to make of.
What was this guy getting at? That he was suggesting they form a group to overthrow her or something? To fight her? ]
If you think I'm suggesting that this is some kind of uprising against Darma, it isn't. If you're not interested in this than feel free to do what you wish. No one's making you join an organization if you're "done-zo" with them.

[ He does love being difficult and dislikes authority figures, and is suffering from a severe case of Once Bitten, Twice Shy from his last gig. ]
What I'm saying is we're already all, uh, deep in the paint with this Storm. One way or another. We all took our L on that one. You think Darma's snatching us from the jaws of oblivion for funsies? Nah. There's no way there's not an agenda there too. I'm thinking it already aligns with yours, because there couldn't be a more obvious Big Baddy around than the Storm. [Unless that's just a convenient story to keep all of us quiet about being kidnapped? Who doesn't love a good conspiracy theory.] You want to make a clubhouse to chillax with your dudes? Go for it! I'm not stopping you either, but we don't know jack yet. You want to fight something you gotta know which way to point the sharp end.

[ He's still listening though, and Takko's making some good points that he can't very well deny. ]
Fair enough, we don't know anything. I wouldn't send anyone charging into a fight we have no clue in winning. That's suicide and I, like many others, don't want to die for nothing. I, we, those who plan group together, will research into it if there is any to be had. If there is a way to defeat it we shall find it before confronting it, not after.

Oh sure, best laid plans, uh, and all that. Those always work out exactly as intended. [He makes a bit of a face, but apparently isn't intending to elaborate. If anything he looks very slightly worried, but it passes quickly.] . . . Listen, you should know that dying for something isn't all it's cracked up to be either.

I don't imagine it is, but I was prepared for it in my world and I am here. If I get to live I'll call that a good bonus.

[ He hadn't meant to get all caught in this serious-discussion-spiral, but it's still pretty raw. ]
If you wanted it to be over so bad, you know, prepared and whatever, you had that choice. But we didn't. We all chose the, um, tactical retreat instead, because on some level we get that dying fucking sucks.
no subject
I don't imagine it ever being pleasant. I don't like the idea of others dying and I myself don't want to. I've tried hard to stay alive for what I needed to do because if I died I knew more would likely too as well. But, I also knew that if we reached the end that I may very well have to give myself to save everyone.
[ He just feels so tired thinking about it. Corypheus was at best no longer a threat for him to think like this but it wasn't easy not thinking like a martyr anymore. Still, there are words Taako says that catch his curiosity. ]
But, what were you retreating from?
no subject
[ Taako deals with a lot of martyrs. He's used to it. It feels like the sanest option to maybe be the opposite of a martyr sometimes, to keep things in perspective for all the people he knows who are willing to die for just like. Any old sht. ]
Same thing you were? The Hunger? Storm-whats-it. That's what they're calling it, right? Hard to keep track of these bad guy buzzwords. You'd think we'd knock it off with the whole self-important name and just start calling it something that makes sense. Universe-Eating-Bullshit-Thing.

[ Clearly this one has dealt with some shit. However, there is something of a little bit of a frown. ]
I'll admit I was up against something that was attempting to end the world but they were a bit more physical and tangible and singular. Also an insane magister infected with the Blight. Still, they have their way of wanting to seem self important. Called themselves The Elder One.
