01 | Video | UN: Inquisitor
[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.
He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.
A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]
To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.
Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.
In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.
[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]
We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.
What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.
Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.
[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]
But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.
From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.
[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]
I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.
For now, have a good day everyone.
[And he clicks off.]

I do not agree with you on many matters, shemlen, but it would seem that you are the only one speaking sense now. I shall offer my knowledge and skills to this counsel of yours.
[Salty old elf begrudgingly stepping up for Lelianna.]

Part of him isn't surprised Abelas is willing to help but the other is. Considering, how much Abelas seemed to look down on him. He's just a little taken aback and words fail him for a moment but he quickly responds: ]
Any aid you're willing to give Abelas would be of great help.
[ A thousand years of experience would be helpful.
Maybe he'll even get an option to soften Abelas]We'll need to focus on getting funding for our next steps but we should be able to do it.

You are aware of where my skills lay. However as my Sentinels slumber, I would need to acquire individuals to train in their stead. I need not many, but if you wish to make efficient use of my skills I shall need enough for perhaps small infiltrations, and reconnaissance.
[Discretion with limited numbers was probably his most worthwhile skill, aside from perhaps fortifying buildings magically. He doubted that would be much use here though, as such would make him the only one able to call upon it. Regardless it was not worth mentioning, this one had seen his skills, those of his people, if he had any requests of questions he could ask.
The mention of procuring funds has the old elf quirking his head curiously. Surely this child knew better than to ask him to attempt to appease the natives for coin.]
I daresay you will find me little use in charming nobility. I was not favored in such tasks even by my own people.
[Not to say he wasn't occasionally forced into it, he was simply poor at it.]

If we can gather enough people we can certainly give them to you. Creators know we'll need as many as we can get.
[ Hopefully some of the civilian types will be willing to learn under Abelas and take up such roles. Otherwise they may be short a few people. If they could even survive the training that is.
He does try not to laugh at Abelas words. That may turn out badly. ]
No, I wouldn't ask you to do that. Your skills are better fit for areas of combat and subterfuge.

I shall take what you are able to offer. If you find any with magic inclination I would see to them as well.
[Please don't just saddle me with a merry band of misfit shemlens, in other words. Not that he couldn't find some purpose for them, but he did hope to have at least a few individuals that could hold their own in combat.]
What are your plans in acquiring such funding? Or are you simply searching for an individual to take up such a role in your stead.

I've met few magic users, if they're willing I will do so.
[ IE, sorry Abelas, you take what he can get. ]
For the time being we may have to work jobs here or take on mercenary jobs. We don't have the pull of the Andrastian religion anymore backing us so we have to start from the bottom.

The next bit earns a disgusted noise that would make Cassandra proud. It's actually the sound of his ego physically hurting him. Can you really envision him working for someone? Ever?]
So it seems.
[He did not crawl up the ranks of Sentinels to lead for a millennia just to do some menial apprentice work, or have anyone he deems less qualified bark orders at him.]

Hopefully, something better comes our way that's more lucrative.
