01 | Video | UN: Inquisitor
[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.
He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.
A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]
To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.
Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.
In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.
[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]
We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.
What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.
Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.
[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]
But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.
From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.
[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]
I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.
For now, have a good day everyone.
[And he clicks off.]

[ at least, not an actual greater good. ]
So, how well did your Inquisition work out for you before the Storm made everything you fought for pointless?
voice; un: archer
[ He has to wonder what kind of Inquisition these people have dealt with.
The question isn't unsurprising and he's ready for it.]
We started small like any group but we grew into a force that southern Thedas looked to for hope. We had many accomplishments and we were on the cusp of taking down the worst foe Thedas faced at that time. [ Until the Storm happened. ]

[ he considers the inquisitor's words carefully, before letting out a sigh. ]
Your cause came to a rather poor end back home then. And what's to say it'll be any better here? The Storm doesn't seem like a thing that can be fought, least of all by good intentions and hand holding.
no subject
[ She may just go UGH for all he knows.
And of course.
Another pessimist. What is with you people? His hands fold over one another as he listens. ]
You're right. We didn't accomplish what we set out to do because of a force we had no idea of knowing about storming in as it were. [ Pun intended? Who knows. ]
Good intentions can't do anything unless we're willing to act on them. I know words are cheap, action is needed, but words always need to be spoken first before the second can follow.
no subject
that said, yeah this guy has a little too much of it. ]
I don't disagree with that, at least. If nothing else, your little speech seems to have gotten people thinking. That's at least something.
no subject
I've had a lot of practice with speeches, but I'll be sure to trim down the next one.
[ However, he does fold his arms looking at this man. ]
What is your take on this? Would you be for joining a group who wishes to do what they can to help the people of this world and find a way to take on the storm? Neutral? Or is it a bad idea?
[ He's generally curious. ]
no subject
though after everything he's sad, it's not like he can just try to get out of giving an answer. ]
It's not a bad idea. Foolishly idealistic, perhaps, but not bad. Given what's happened, foolish idealism may not be such a bad idea.
...I've never been much of one for working in groups though.
no subject
For the current times and climate I think the idea of hope tends to be welcoming for some. So, I'm at least glad you don't think it was a terrible idea.
[ Not that it would really change his mind much.
Though, he does look curious at him for the last part. ]
How come?
no subject
[ ...actually, he's not a big fan of hope at all, but there are limits to just how much of a curmudgeon he's willing to be right now. ]
Some people are simply better off working on their own. I happen to be one of those people. Nothing more, nothing else.
no subject
Fair enough. I can understand that.
For now, who are you if I may ask?
no subject
Archer.
Though I may not have much faith in your chances, I look forward to hearing of your exploits, Inquisitor. [ so... er... good luck? ]
no subject
Thank you, Archer. I look forward to hearing from you again.
