01 | Video | UN: Inquisitor
[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.
He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.
A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]
To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.
Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.
In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.
[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]
We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.
What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.
Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.
[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]
But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.
From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.
[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]
I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.
For now, have a good day everyone.
[And he clicks off.]

If there's at least some people who are interested than I'd hardly call it a waste. As for our hosts...well, if they have a problem then I will listen and argue my point.
What good is it to have us all here and not even try to organize? They'd be rather foolish if they didn't see the benefits. [ But he figures if only the group is under their control. ]

It depends on what you want the organization to be. Can you claim to represent all refugees if not all of them support you?
And I'd say that they're either foolish, or worried about losing power. Any time another group makes a name for itself that isn't part of the local government, it makes people jumpy. Especially if they're outsiders.
But, that depends entirely on how much you want to test the hospitality of our hosts. Still, I admire your effort.
[ though that might just be appeasement. he's good at that. ]

I want this to be a sign of hope. A show that we can defeat such an entity. To show that justice can be and will be done.
[ Perhaps sentimental but he's a sentimental guy. ]
You wouldn't be the first to tell me that. The Chantry was very much against our formation back home thinking we were leading their followers astray.
[ So, he's familiar with the concept. He can only hope that Darma is not that bullheaded. ]
Honestly, I tend to do that a lot. I seem to step on everyone's toes even with the best intentions.

[ it's still blindly idealistic, in his opinion. but he has his own personal experience about a good idea leading everyone involved straight to hell. ]
So, was this "Chantry" the church in your world? I'd have thought that with a name like the "Inquisition", you were religious crusaders. [ again, not that he put that much stock in the whole idea. ]
But if you're that determined about this whole thing, I suppose I could always help out.
[ as terrible of an idea as this whole thing was, he was hardly going to pass up a chance to glean more information. ]

The Chantry is the dominating human religion of our world yes. And you would be correct. The first Inquisition had a bloody history but the way I've run mine is not the same as the one of old.
I don't claim to be holy, I don't claim to fight for religion. I fight for justice for all.
[ Words he remembered repeating to many a friend. However, the man does get something of a smile. ]
It's good to at least hear that. Anything you have to offer is appreciated.

[ they might decide that living under complete control is preferable to a world filled with chaos and free will.
now... as for skills... ]
Back home, I used to train soldiers with hand-to-hand combat, and weapons handling. I figure I could teach a few people a thing or two.

[ Once Corypheus is gone and the rifts sealed, maybe that will be it. ]
That could be useful. There have been some people who don't know how to defend themselves here. If we get people like that interested we would need you. But, even then a skilled combatant within our ranks is also a handy thing to have.

[ an unfortunate fate. however, the fact that so many were still alive... well, that was still something. ]
I'd be more than happy to teach people a thing or two about hand-to-hand combat. And, maybe a thing or two about using a gun.
[ as for his other job as an interrogator, or as a spy...
well. that was something that he'd keep quiet about. ]

[ He has to believe it. ]
You're services will be great help and I thank you for them.

[ though for him, it doesn't really matter if they ever got back. his world had never held much attachment so much as the people. ]
Just let me know when you need my services, and I'll be glad to help.

[ Even if inwardly he's not sure he can do it this time. But, he can't let that show. A leader has to inspire. ]
Thank you. I will be sure to.
