01 | Video | UN: Inquisitor
[ The feed turns on with a young elven man. Blond, windswept hair pushed from his eyes so the green shines more prominently. He sits at the head of the bed, leg crossed over the other, fingers knitted together and folded in front of him. There's a look to his face, one he's practiced enough to make it seamless and natural; it's focused, determined and confident.
He's planned it in his head, figured the speech. Now it's time to present. Hopefully, all bases are covered.
A smile plays on his lips but it's still with that air of leadership. ]
To my fellow refugees of Thesea, I am Inquisitor Lavellan.
Back in my world of Thedas I was the leader of a group known as the Inquisition. The goal of our group was to bring order back to a world that was thrown into chaos by an event known as The Breach.
In the end, it appeared we've failed due to the matter of the Storm, but I didn't come here to talk about failure. I came here with an idea and to succeed.
[A small pause for dramatic effect before he continues.]
We are a group of diverse people, probably the most that any of our individual worlds have ever seen. We come with different experiences, as different races, creeds, and a variety of knowledge.
What I'm suggesting is something similar to what my Organization has done. We bring order. We work together, bring our talents and skills to the forefront and find a way to destroy the Storm and hopefully save what we have lost. If there is a chance we may be able to restore our own worlds and go back to our lives if we choose too.
Darma said we must choose our side but I believe we can make our own. The foundation I'm looking to make is a neutral ground but with the end goal of defeating the Storm. That is our true enemy.
[ Finally, he unlaces his fingers and gestures a hand, holding it out to the side. ]
But, I do not intend to elect myself leader. I was chosen for the position back home for a quality I possessed but here? We're all on equal ground. I don't make any assumptions you would choose a complete stranger as a leader who has yet proven himself to all of you. What I suggest is we make a council instead. Those who are familiar with leading or have that quality, are willing to take up the duties required for it and will help do what is right.
From there, we would need agents, volunteers. Anyone willing to lend aid in gathering research and to help us secure some kind of base where we can operate from.
[ The smile becomes more broader, brighter and it's brimming with confidence. All playing into that careful mask he had to build back home when facing the mass public.]
I believe we can do this together. We showed that even when we were thrown into disarray we can unite and overcome. Consider what I've suggested.
For now, have a good day everyone.
[And he clicks off.]

I suppose old habits die hard, even here.
I'm hoping we can organize. I had a feeling the moment I made this message there would be some...less than willing to even go for such an idea. I'm expecting at least half a dozen mockeries. I'm keeping tally.
[ All said with good humour. Nope, he will not let the negativity bring him down. Not yet. ]
I mean, we could always drop an avalanche on it and see if that takes. [ Jokes, jokes all around.
But, the name does clearly cause of a sign of recognition on his face. ]
Rose. Yes, I remember you. It's good to know you have my back.

And I'm assuming the avalanche bit is some inside joke, as I don't imagine you've seen Mulan before.
But whatever the Storm is, there has to be something that can be done about it.
I refuse to believe otherwise.
And I'm ready to fight reality itself if I must.

[ He'll never say no to sharing stories. He has to clap his hands together. He can just feel the determination from her through this device. Yes, he could do this. They could do this.
Skeptics be damned. ]
It seems we're of a like mind. Definitely, we definitely will fight it and win. We must.
I think our first duty is to try and find a place where we can setup. Perhaps a first meeting with as many people who are interested.

Tea would be lovely.
But now, the immediate issue: money.
I've yet to hear of anyone in our group securing a job or any other source of income yet, so acquiring a proper base of operations seems a far off dream right now.
Which means any meeting location would have to be either a public location or someone's dormitory.
If you aren't terribly optimistic about how many people might wish to get involved, the latter could do for a semi-permanent base, but we won't be able to stay in these dorms forever anyway.
And as we are, again, collectively poor, public locations like restaurants are likely out of the question.
Which leaves something like a park, maybe.
Informal and transient, perhaps, but spacious and, most inportantly, free.

As for meetings, we'll need to find a dorm that's fairly spacious to accommodate if we get a fair sized group. Otherwise my abode could work if it's only a few at the beginning.

Well, judging by the response you're getting here, your own dorm may be plenty spacious to begin with.
People are remarkably resistant to order and progress.

I can't blame them. They're making sense of the situation and they might not like the idea of being "preached" to.
