[She's been thinking about a past conversation she's had before coming here, about promises made before waking up from stasis, and...well...
The video feed shows her sitting in her bedroom, wearing all black with the Royal Guard insignia pinned to her chest, and while ordinarily she'd make herself look prim and proper for a video conference it's kind of hard to do so living in a hovel and not in a Castle-ship. Still, she's trying.]
Upon first waking and learning of the Storm, I had been told that my friends are being held in quarantine, and that continues to remain true for now even as we make do on Olympia. I cannot be the only person here who has animal companions and wishes to reunite with them in the near future.
If anyone here has been reunited with their animal friends, my ears are open as to how you got them back. I... [she hesitates, and then rephrases whatever it is she was going to say.] There are not many living things from my homeworld left, even in the universe where I am from. The space mice had been a great comfort, especially in unfamiliar territory such as this.
[She begins to undo her hair from its updo and...it's a lot of hair for a bun that was so neat and orderly.]
I also wish to inform those I know that I am currently assisting the Royal Guard in the Noble District. It is strange interacting with the nobility here when your own title holds no weight.

K'ahri's giving out free samples! [ excitedly, he angles his phone to show the vendor of the stall he'd been standing nearby. her goods seem to be entirely fruit and vegetables... if that's what these things are, anyway. ] Say hi to my friend, K'ahri!
[ the vendor in question blushes (her skin turns bright orange, anyway) and waves a webbed hand in the general direction of the phone screen. lance shifts the focus back onto himself, mouth now blessedly empty. ]

[She can hear that giggle, and her expression falls a bit. Feel free to interpret that as a sign of jealousy Lance, because the reality is her Continuing Disappointment in Lance because THE TRUTH IS she thinks better of the guy.
Or at least, his ~~potential.]
The nobles are fine, nothing out of what I've come to expect. It is just strange being among them and not...being among them.
But they respect those in the Guard well enough.

[ admittedly, he's the first to goof off, but most of the time his goofing off comes hand-in-hand with the fun of doing what they do — saving the universe! protecting the innocents! who says you can't have fun when you're doing your duty like that? besides isn't part of protecting people... protecting the people? how's anyone gonna trust him around here if they don't get to know him? then again, what does he know about diplomacy tbh... it's right up there with math, smh. ]
