( this is her first appearance on the network, but Diana might be recognizable to some all the same. she was easily spotted wandering the halls of Thesa Station, especially in the halls of the sleeping. considering her height and easy confidence, she does tend to draw attention as she moves around Olympia as well. even if she isn't recognizable, she might be after this.

while she's unused to this method of communication, she's tinkered with it enough to master it. at least enough to accomplish what she means to say. she speaks cleanly, and with clear purpose. )

Greetings. I am Diana. ( it's taken some doing, but she did manage to say her name without spitting out titles and who her mom is. someone should give her points for this. ) I come with a request for aide.

Our landing was made in haste, and damage was wrought from the lack of planning. We all remember the scars left on the land, the devices we left behind in our wake.

Considering our work here must be performed in secrecy, I suspect it would be wise to clean up what we can before the residents of this planet find it. Beyond that, we might be able to scrap and make something of the devices we were ejected in, and do something for the destroyed field that softened our landing.

If you would aide me in this, I would have your name. I suspect the sooner we start, the better. If you believe your hands will be of help, then they will be welcome.

It's a good idea to clear up the debris, not just to keep all of this secret from the locals, but in case any others wake up and are sent down. If they land in the same place, that mess could cause damage to the pods.

[ Not to mention the people inside. Yes, she's thinking big picture here -- their rescuers promised to keep her loved ones safe and she's counting the days until they wake up. ]

( if the station had been attacked once, there is little doubt it could happen again. Diana knows that war is a constant push and pull, it is practically expected that it may happen again. )

I should be fine without it -- I'm stronger and faster than I look. I could actually probably help keep the others safe while we travel.

That would be appreciated. I am capable myself, but I am only one, and so far it looks as if there will be many of us at work.

[ There are pretty nasty things in that forest, Elena couldn't in good conscience let people venture through it on their own without trying to keep them safe. Especially not after she'd been assaulted by one of those creepy spiders herself. ]

I'd rather not get into the specifics, but it's painless, and it can be reversed. [ It's not the most forthcoming answer, but anything more would be saying too much. ] It's just a method of burying memories, that's all.

( Diana chews a lip, clearly thoughtful. she knows little of what Elena is describing, but just based on what little she knows... )

Once it is learned, it would not be ours to take, unless it was their will. It would be better to avoid it, if we can.

Beyond that, I imagine they might not believe, even with evidence before them. It is easier to not believe.

[ It's strange to have someone basically repeating her old sentiments back at her, from before she was a vampire. Before she compelled people left and right to forget she'd fed from them, to forget that they'd seen something supernatural at all. And even while she'd been saying all of that, she'd had Damon compel Jeremy to forget things. Twice.

Maybe she needs to rethink some things in this new world. ]

I can respect that. And you're right about them probably not believing. I've seen that a lot before.

( everyone has a breaking point, and even Diana of Themyscira might have one hidden somewhere. still, she tends to be rather stubborn on choice — free will was important to her, something worth fighting for. )

It saddens me, how much doubt there is in every world... but understanding the unknown is never easy. ( Diana tries not to hold fear and distrust against those that feel it. )

[ Free will is something Elena once claimed to value above all else, but she's a very hypocritical person at times. Demanding to make her own choices, then taking those choices from others. She's tried to be better about that in recent years, but... Well. ]

No, it isn't. People are usually afraid of things they don't understand... Though sometimes they should be. [ Vampires, anyone? ]

I have always thought it better to know, frightening or not, though it is not always so simple. There are many reasons to hide things. In this instance, I cannot say whether the knowledge will help or harm. For now, I will try to adhere to the veil of secrecy.

( if she's given reason to confess, though, Diana is likely to break. it is not in her nature to withhold the truth. )

I wish things were that simple, and that we could be open about everything. But it would change their entire lives to know the truth.

Maybe in time, and with the right way to tell them, they can know. But not right now.
