Um. Hi there! That is, this is probably a bit of a silly thing to put up here and I know I don't usually post much around here but... Has anyone seen a man by the name of Venom around recently? Our contact is kind of sporadic but I haven't heard a word from him at all for nearly a month now. which is strange even for him.

He's a tall guy, super well muscled, kind of has this weird hair where it all covers in front of his face with a blue eye dyed into it?

Anyway, if anyone sees him can you tell him to contact Phoenix Wright? Or, I don't know, if you see this here Venom can you just say so?

I didn't do something wrong did I?

[Reading the text gives Atsushi a sinking feeling in his stomach. He hasn't talked to Venom much recently, but even so...]

It seems a lot of people have gone back to stasis lately.

Have you checked there?

Stasis? But--

[He can't deny that he has considered it. But there was just a part of him that preferred to think that any other reason was more viable. He was prone to wandering the halls of the Stasis Chambers after all and he hadn't seen anything yet.]

Even if he was, there are so many worlds of people. I couldn't imagine it would be easy too...

[No! No no no! He will not admit the possibility! Saying it felt like it would be solidifying it!]

You know him right? Do you remember the last time you saw him?

[That feeling is exactly why Atsushi has hardly gone back to the stasis chamber himself, recently. It's just too much, always opening old wounds - and where will it get him? He might even run into someone he didn't realize had gone back to sleep, and he doesn't think he can take that.]

We talked once or twice, but it's been a really long time. Sorry.

I mean, I can't just expect him to be visible to everyone around here. Even though I know he was much better at approaching people than I've ever been these days.

[It's easier to socialize when you have a little bit of combat experience under your belt when it comes to this world. At least, that's how Phoenix had always felt.]

I guess that leaves me no choice huh? I suppose I really have to start checking out the stasis chambers more...

[If it even is - there's always a chance that Venom has just been keeping to himself! - but considering how many people have gone back to stasis recently? Atsushi wouldn't be surprised.

He has to wonder if it has something to do with the Natha disappearing.]

Back when it was just a few, I know some people were keeping track of who had gone back to stasis.

I wonder if we should start doing that again. It hurts to know, certainly, but I really think not knowing is worse.

No-- It's a valid reason for his lack of response. And it's not the first time I've firsthand lost contact with someone only to find out that that had happened.

[But this time it was Venom. This time it was someone he thought he might-- Anyway, best not to get caught up on that.]

I remember when that happened. It was around the time I had lost a protege of mine. I suppose it wouldn't be too strange of a concept to once more update it all. Especially since it had been some time since someone had done so.

Perhaps I should make another post soon collect names.

If just to help all those who are probably experiencing similar disappearances.

[And talking about what others are trying to cope with would help get his mind off of all this.]

You said it's been happening to quite a few people suddenly? More than usual?

I don't know if it's more than usual. All I can say is I've noticed it more.

But then, having been here this long, forming closer ties with people over time... maybe it's just that the losses are bigger, now, and that's why it's noticeable.

Reign Fear is gone. So is JJ - and Eggsy-san, though I never really got to know him.

I suppose so. I won't lie that there are quite a few people I've gotten attached to that I didn't even know before I arrived here.

So those three as well, huh? I'll keep it to note. Maybe collect names around from other people who may have noticed anything before I put a big post up.

It's kind of scary when you think of it. That any one of us could go spontaneously. I wonder what's wrong that it causes that to happen.

[Probably best not to dwell on it. Hopelessness and nihilism are far from anything that would help the situation at hand.]

It's the same for me. And yes, it's terrifying. It's not myself that I'd be worried about, but leaving people behind -... I don't want to do that.

If it's true that more people are going back to stasis, maybe it's because the Natha have disappeared?

At the same time, them being gone makes more people returning to stasis seem like a bad idea. That requires more from Thesa, after all, and there's next to no supervision there at the moment...

I haven't seen him in a while either.

I might see him at the Sanctuary, usually, going about his work, but I can't say I have since we returned...

You work at the sanctuary? And you haven't seen him?

[It's not like Venom to skip out on work. He was so enthusiastic about helping aid injured people ever since he had gotten the job. He always saw it as a way of turning his life around.]

Did you two work together often?

The duties we each pursued were a little different from each other, but we saw each other often enough. But recently... not so much at all, no.

[he remembers the other man starting to work - helping him to familiarise himself with the facilities, though their acquaintance goes back a little longer than that]

I had thought - maybe hoped - that perhaps he might be wanting to focus his efforts elsewhere.

[he wouldn't blame Venom for wanting to rebuild somewhere else than the wreck of Olympia...]

I couldn't imagine why. He was so happy to finally be working at the sanctuary. He saw it as a way to turn his life around... To help rather than hurt people.

[He even remembered how excited Venom had sounded when he had told Phoenix that he was learning healing spells. It really gave Phoenix hope for him.]

Someone mentioned the obvious. The rumor that he could have gone back to sleep like lots of other people in the past...

[Like Athena. Like Matt.]

But I guess I'm trying to remain hopeful. That maybe someone who had seen him around would turn up.

[Things sure are looking bleak now though, aren't they?]

I don't think you are mistaken in your assessment. Or if you were, then the both of us were.

But if he is back amongst the sleepers... perhaps there is less of a cause for concern?

[of course, with the strange unpredictability that seems to be affecting the pods, there is still some cause. But if there are people keeping watch... that must count for something?]

Though if he is not seen - here or elsewhere - we may have to resign ourselves to that possibility, I think.

I had only lost one other person I had known to stasis before this. It's still fairly hard to accept as a possibility.

[He still vaguely thought it was his fault. Since he was supposed to take care of her when she was sick. Instead, he only had gotten sick as well, and nearly died in the process.]

People who have fallen asleep... I had heard through the grapevines that some eventually wake back up not long after. I wonder how high that probability is.

I have not seen this for myself, outside of those in need of healing. I can imagine it to be true, though I cannot claim to get my hopes up, either. Perhaps it is better not to.

[it would be a relief, if Venom were to come back and prove all their worries for nothing. Or Yona, or the kindly man Linneus had met so many times and still never managed to pull a name from. But they have not returned, and Linneus has held onto hope before without fulfilment. It does little good]

I have unfortunately had no word from him since our escape to Thesa Station. I know that he does go through periods of avoiding you, however, this is a bit long, even for him.

[He could say that perhaps ghosting Phoenix wasn't the best approach but then again how hypocritical would have been for him to say that. Considering how much he had ghosted him himself.]

Not really??? I mean, really I'm not sure. But things seemed to go over civilly enough. If anything I was surprised at how well he took it that I already knew about the situation.

[Mostly because how quick you were to admit guilt regarding that whole ordeal Miles.]

I cannot speak for what he may or may not have been thinking Wright. I think focusing on that will drive you to a road that is filled with baseless conjecture.

Do you know his residence? It may be best to start looking there and move on from it.

And you're right. It's silly to jump to conclusions about what's going on through his mind.
