This isn't something that I typically find myself asking or even thinking about, to be honest.
But I suppose I'm of age now, and "of age" is a somewhat irrelevant concept when the countries and laws we come from no longer exist, isn't it?
With that said:
In our current circumstance, where might one find an alcoholic drink?

I just haven't felt the urge to indulge in it much before now.
Do they really serve alcohol back up on the station?
I'm from England, to answer your question.

[Man, he couldn't imagine what he would be like if he was allowed such freedom at such an early age. He'd definitely abuse it... Probably...]
But yeah, all you really have to do is ask and those up on the orbiter can recreate just about anything.
Had an In-N-Out Burger recently which was surprisingly close to the real deal. And friends have grabbed me drinks while I've been up there.

To be honest, I'm not looking for anything in specific. No particular drink from my hometown or anything like that. So I'm not sure your advice is that applicable.
But I'll keep it in mind.
What's In-N-Out Burger?
[It sounds like what happens during digestion. Which is gross.]
no subject
[He knew hamburgers were a pretty American thing in general... But still...]
Oh man you have to make sure to ask for one next time you're up on the orbiter. Maybe get it with a spiked malted milkshake.
[Sage adult advice.]

I'm not exactly familiar with American hamburger chains aside from those you export.
What makes it better than the more famous franchises?
no subject
And hungry.
I think I'm definitely hungry now.
no subject
I've never really eaten much fast food myself, personally speaking. I'm not a very good judge on what makes one better than the others.
no subject
Still, I don't think that changes your drink situation right now unless you really don't mind going all the way back up to the Orbiter. I hear there's a cantina around here that's supposed to be pretty good. But since I've yet to go there myself I don't think I could put my own two cents in just yet.

I'm beginning to rethink this plan, to be honest. I'm not sure bars or taverns suit me temperamentally.
no subject
But, really? You think? How do you know if you never step into one?
no subject
It's true I haven't been in to one to drink. I was there the first night for everyone experimenting with the beverages. It's... rowdy.

Number one law of drinking is to never drink alone. Otherwise, you'll just look like a lush.
[Sage nod of wisdom and experience.]
Perhaps a smaller pub. Someplace quieter with fewer people in it. Or if all else fails you could always pick up something at one of the local stores and go hang out with a friend or two.
no subject
Honestly, bringing something back to my room appeal to me more than the other options.
But, as you said, that does have... certain implications.
no subject
[Come on Diana you can tell him. He's practically a master at handling teenage girl problems at this point!]
no subject
You just said it yourself: Drinking alone has specific connotations.
Even if I might prefer it at this point.
no subject
Wait. So you mean you have no one to drink with?
[Oh no. This won't do. This simply won't do at all!]
no subject
no subject
[Well then. What to do, what to do...]
Well, if that's the case... What do you say I get you something, hm?
[In the totally not creepy way in which a thirty-five-year-old man would ask an eighteen-year-old girl out for a drink, of course.]
no subject
You're offering to buy me a drink?
no subject
[Yeah totally not creepy.]
That is only if you don't mind!
I guess, as the responsible adult here, it just feels kind of irresponsible to just leave someone alone by themselves when dealing with alcohol for their first time.
... Especially if the source of their wanting to drink is because of feeling down.
I guess it's just, from personal experience, I know what it's like to want to give in to such vices? And I rather it is a positive social experience than a sad one...
[Don't give in to your vices like he once did Diana! It's only a never-ending spiral downwards!]
no subject
Thank you; your offer is very kind.
It's not the first time I've had alcohol, I assure you; I'm not *that* inexperienced.
It's only the first time I'm drinking with the intention of inebriating myself.
And to be perfectly candid, I think having someone else around might be... embarrassing?
no subject
Perhaps I may be over-worrying. Heck... Maybe I'm even projecting a bit. But if not me, at least try to find someone to be with, all right?
[He's doing his absolute best to keep himself from going full-on dad mode here. Mostly out of respect that they barely know one another.
But, darn it, it was difficult not to.]
no subject
However, I will have to respectfully decline your offer.
I think I can handle myself.
no subject
...
Well, it's not as if I am capable of forcing you or anything of the sort.
In the end, it is all your own decision.
Just, please take care of yourself if you do, all right? And try to keep from doing anything ridiculous. Like going out because of a spontaneous craving, or texting a friend over a stupid spur of the moment thought you've had...
[Believe him. None of those things end well when you're off drinking alone.]
no subject
Again, I appreciate the concern, I think.
I don't intend to do any of those things.
I'm typically the one preventing the ridiculous activity myself.
I assume you speak from experience?
