Well, I suppose it is a smaller franchise. Pretty much a strictly California thing. Let's see. I suppose one of the reasons it's so good is its simplicity. Everything is fresh, no freezing involved, and most of the ingredients are locally grown. So there's really no need for any fancy additions, you know? The menu is literally just "Hamburger, Cheeseburger, French fries, Soda, and Milkshake". Man, just thinking about how their stuff tastes make me nostalgic.

And hungry.

I'll admit that does sound good. Fresh ingredients alone is a marked improvement over the other chains.

I've never really eaten much fast food myself, personally speaking. I'm not a very good judge on what makes one better than the others.

Still, I don't think that changes your drink situation right now unless you really don't mind going all the way back up to the Orbiter. I hear there's a cantina around here that's supposed to be pretty good. But since I've yet to go there myself I don't think I could put my own two cents in just yet.

I'm beginning to rethink this plan, to be honest. I'm not sure bars or taverns suit me temperamentally.

It's true I haven't been in to one to drink. I was there the first night for everyone experimenting with the beverages. It's... rowdy.

Ahaha, yeah, that tends to happen when you make a place for a bunch of people to get drunk. Otherwise, it would be a shame if you were by yourself while getting that way.

Number one law of drinking is to never drink alone. Otherwise, you'll just look like a lush.

Perhaps a smaller pub. Someplace quieter with fewer people in it. Or if all else fails you could always pick up something at one of the local stores and go hang out with a friend or two.

I guess, as the responsible adult here, it just feels kind of irresponsible to just leave someone alone by themselves when dealing with alcohol for their first time.
... Especially if the source of their wanting to drink is because of feeling down.

I guess it's just, from personal experience, I know what it's like to want to give in to such vices? And I rather it is a positive social experience than a sad one...

It's not the first time I've had alcohol, I assure you; I'm not *that* inexperienced.
It's only the first time I'm drinking with the intention of inebriating myself.

Embarrassing as it may be, it's still probably safer to be around other people when you have the full intention to get yourself in that way.

Perhaps I may be over-worrying. Heck... Maybe I'm even projecting a bit. But if not me, at least try to find someone to be with, all right?

Oh! And um... Just, as a bit of a final note, I guess. Try to not get carried away with how alone you are right now. Even if you think you have no one close to you at the moment, one of the few bright sides about being in a new place like this is that there's so much opportunity to form new and exciting relationships that we all would have never otherwise formed.

I know it might sound kind of preachy, but please keep yourself open to the people around you. You never know what sort of amazing impact they may play on your future as long as you allow them.

It's not really about me but, since this was a public post, I'm absolutely sure there must be others close to your age and interests who are more than happy getting to help you out and get to know you in the process.

I assure you that I am not wallowing in my "loneliness." I have made many friends here.
If you are concerned that I am lacking an emotional support system, I assure you that this couldn't be further from the case.

But a dear friend of mine has gone back to sleep in orbit. And I wish some time to indulge my feelings.
