Sooo... [ There's a bit of an awkward silence before Lena lets out a small cough. ]

It's been a year and we aren't dead yet! Most of us aren't ... some of us haven't gone through death here ... the world below us is sort of crashing and burning a bit ... but, we're all still here and alive! I like to think that's an improvement.

[ Is it an improvement from her previous life? No, not really. But, Lena does want to try cheer people up and brighten up the mood, even if she started off a little shaky because it's not like she does this often. ]

If you've been here the entire time, or just for a few months, I'd love to hear about what you've come to enjoy about this place. [ Because everyone has had to have lived differently here and gone through different experiences, and by getting people to talk about what they've enjoyed and learned to move is a great way to lighten everyone's spirits.

Right?

She hopes so. Besides, this gives her the chance to meet new people too. ]

Yeah, it’s almost hard to believe.

[ Time really does fly, and it isn’t just for her. The past year has certainly been an interesting one for all that are involved with this world. ]

That’s good! I do agree about the nature, it’s very pretty here and some of the sights are just breathtaking.

And the plants, and the animals... I know some of them are trouble, but that's the same everywhere, I think. I still like them all a great deal.

They're all interesting here, but, that is because of how I never saw anything like that where I'm from. I think that's the case for a lot of people. [ she'd be surprised if someone new all the plants and animals here. ]

That's definitely the case for me!

It's funny how some of the creatures here existed only in legends, in my world - like the pegasi. It makes one wonder how those legends came to be.

Do you think people found this place then, I don't know, got transported to different worlds and spread those stories? I can't really imagine how else it would happen.

[ It would be an interesting way of it happening. But, she could be wrong and that is just how everything ahs worked out. ]

I wonder! I'd say it shouldn't be possible, with the Storm, but since refugees have gone home and come back here... anything is possible, probably.

[He doesn't know how that works. He's not sure he wants to know.]

Yeah... that part still has me a little confused about what is going on. [ which is saying something seeing she's the time girl. ]

Either way, it looks like the world hasn't broken at least!

Thankfully not! I miss my old world, but I would dearly miss this one as well, at this point.

Same. This one is a new home and we need to protect it as much as we can, and for as long as we can.

It's strange, isn't it? A lot was taken from us, but we got enough in return that I couldn't pick between one life or the other anymore.

I think it's the best we can ask for! It makes not being able to go home a little less painful.

["And yet people have gone home... and come back." That's what he wants to say, but it's not something he should wish for himself, when he doesn't know how to make it happen - and why should he even bother, if he'll come back in the end? Wouldn't it be more painful, losing his home world a second time?

Either way, he's trying to be positive here, for her sake as much as his own.]

We're really lucky that we've been welcomed so much. For the most part, anyway.

[ Closing her eyes for a moment, she nods in agreement. ]

It's nice to be welcomed. I mean, it would really suck if we got treated like enemies when we didn't have any choice in the matter of being here. Not that, er, dying would have been much better.

Not having a choice in coming here wouldn't have been something we could have explained to anyone, either.

The Natha; Thesa... It's hard to keep that secret sometimes. Not because I can't do it, but because it feels wrong to keep secrets from everyone on the planet when they've treated us so kindly.

[Except for the homicidal maniacs. You know.]

Yeah... we're not allowed to tell any of the natives anything.

[ Which makes it really hard sometimes. ]

Lying to them really does suck, especially because we could easily help people with the Natha, but because we can't say anything about them, we can't help as much as we would like.

I do think that staying out of things is the Natha's way of helping. And we shouldn't bother them with every little problem, anyway.

But sometimes a little help would sure be convenient.

But, there is so much more than they could be doing! I just wish that they would help out a little more, otherwise, why pick this planet to lurk around?

There is a lot they could be doing, but if they did that, wouldn't they take over people's right to make their own decisions?

I know that the conflict between Olympia and Wyver, for example, came at a heavy cost, but at the same time, the people worked it out. Olympia and Wyver worked it out themselves. I think that's a more valuable peace than one forced on them from above.

[ She pauses for a moment. ]

That is a good point. I don't expect them to help out a lot, but, they could have done something about the bombings earlier or the whole bringing back a giant, dangerous dragon.

The dragon was something they hadn't foreseen, though... Still, I don't disagree.

It's hard to know where to draw the line, isn't it? From their point of view, it must be almost like raising children.

They could have done something when it first appeared, hard to have missed that... [ She mumbles to herself, still feeling sore and a little salty about what has happened. ]

I guess so. I understand that they can’t hold their hand, but, more help would be nice.
