Sooo... [ There's a bit of an awkward silence before Lena lets out a small cough. ]

It's been a year and we aren't dead yet! Most of us aren't ... some of us haven't gone through death here ... the world below us is sort of crashing and burning a bit ... but, we're all still here and alive! I like to think that's an improvement.

[ Is it an improvement from her previous life? No, not really. But, Lena does want to try cheer people up and brighten up the mood, even if she started off a little shaky because it's not like she does this often. ]

If you've been here the entire time, or just for a few months, I'd love to hear about what you've come to enjoy about this place. [ Because everyone has had to have lived differently here and gone through different experiences, and by getting people to talk about what they've enjoyed and learned to move is a great way to lighten everyone's spirits.

Right?

She hopes so. Besides, this gives her the chance to meet new people too. ]

[He's not one for random conversation, but Ren knows that he has to get information from anyone he can. That involves talking. He opts for text instead since it will give him more time to respond.]

There are so many more kinds of people here than where I'm from.

It is astonishingly beautiful, and rich with its own customs and history. Being from Mars, and having been to Earth only once, I think this planet resembles Earth much more. I have always admired Earth's vast blue oceans and its various landscapes teeming with life, and so I enjoyed El Nysa in the same way. I have only been here for a few months, and yet I feel I have had more leisure to do so than I ever got the chance to when I visited Earth.

I have been here the entire time. I have met so many different people and heard so many interesting stories.

Well, the grass is green and the girls are pretty. Outside of that it's leaning closer to a nightmare than a paradise city.

It is rather cold, and Mars has only about 38% of Earth's gravity, so when you stand on solid ground, you definitely feel the difference! Comparatively speaking, it lacks many of Earth's natural resources. Due to the history of colonization on the Mars of my world, we made up for it by having advanced technology, so the infrastructure of its cities was unparalleled, its military might unmatched. Before the Storm came, there were social tensions due to the planet's comparative inability to sustain enough agriculture to feed the growing population, among other related issues.

Of course, Mars as a planet is beautiful in its own way. The soil is red due to the abundance of iron oxide in the soil, and there are many craters and mountains present. The sky changes colors like it does on Earth, but it is very different. During the daytime, it is a yellowish hue. I often wondered what it would be like to view my planet from the Earth's surface. When I got the chance, it looked like a bright orange speck! Have you ever wondered what Earth looks like from as far away as Mars?

I'm still working on finding an answer to that besides "I'm not atoms where my galaxy used to be."

[One? Mai has to think.]

I guess one of the first ones I helped with. He was kind of a biter but he made me think a lot about my baby brother at home.

[... Is it odd to compare a baby dragon to a toddler? Maybe.]

You're a glass-half-full type, aren't you?

Anyway... this place allows people to possibly interact with those they might not otherwise have the opportunity to.

I've met many friends. And...I think that despite our different origins, the fact that we've been able to come together throughout so many troubles...

It's something that gives me hope for our future, I think.

It's really been a whole year already?

[That's both hard to believe and anything but; it makes him both happy and kind of sad. A year is a short time to everything refugees have accomplished, he thinks. And yet it's also a year without the majority of his friends from home.]

If I had to say what I enjoy about this place, it's probably the opportunities we've been given. That, and the people I've met, of course.

Well, I really like the nature here, too.

[she tried]

When they don't put weird crap in it, it's okay, I guess, but the Wyverns drink dragon blood. I don't really trust their ability to mix drinks.

They don't. The soil is really poor. Or controlled.

[ A pause. ]

Everything's pretty free here too.

Is this a trick question? Please. They're too loathe to wake up a girl who'd score less than eight outta ten, and most are leaning to a perfect dime anyhow.
