[The man in the video looks exhausted. There are circles under his eyes, his hair looks like fingers have been run through it a thousand times. It takes him a moment before he starts speaking.]

I feel as though I have failed you all. We all tried, we all did our parts. But in the end my book learning wasn't enough, and I am sorry that I was not able to find a solution to this problem.

I am also sorry I did not take early warnings seriously. There were those who tried to tell us about the possibility of a thing like this happening, and I thought -- surely not. Dragons don't simply return from the dead.

But here we are. Here we all are. The best we can do is move forward, I suppose, in any way we can.

No, you're right. I should have listened. It just seemed so ridiculous, bringing a dragon back from the dead.

My brother got more paranoid, as he got older. Listening to every whisper and rumour that passed his ear. Demanding we act on every possibility. I swore I wouldn't be like that, that I would tackle each problem with logic and reason.

Perhaps I should have listened to the whispers more.

[No, he is not accepting any of this "regret" business] Thus are the dangers when a single man is responsible for more than he should be. Men are failible, even when well-intentioned.

I'm not certain what we're arguing about. Or why we're even arguing. A devastating attack happened. To all of us. Surely that is some sort of equalizer, and we can simply converse as people instead of battling over political differences that are really not differences here?

It may be easy for you to lay aside your former role. It seems to be so. I cannot lay aside my principles so easily. [It's no exactly an apology, but... perhaps his tone is softer.]
