I've no idea. I would wager their methods were more magical than mundane, but who's to say an enchanted needle and thread were not involved?

See, there's a story like that where I'm from and it doesn't end well for anyone involved.

Does this story also involve the creation of chimeras?

Well, it involves body parts being sewn together and brought to life. So, in a way?

Have you come any closer to finding the answer you're looking for in regards to your incredibly vague question, by the way?

I'm going through the stages of grief with it. Currently in the bargaining part, where I try to convince myself dragons and shamans may not actually kill us all due to some loophole.

That is not entirely encouraging, you know. I've no love for the shamans, having been captured by them twice now, but what makes you think they'll have some hand in killing us all?

Just a feeling I had. Mostly around the time a bunch of people began attacking me, who turned out to be friends with the shamans. I take being attacked very personally.

Well people ran at me with sharp things mostly.

Pointy end first, I’d hope, else I’d very much have to doubt their efficacy as attackers.

But that was not quite the answer I was looking for.

I was travelling with a group toward Wyver. They were waiting for us before we even got to the south outpost. It was very much a pointy-end first situation.

Traveling as a part of the exchange between Olympia and Wyver, mayhap?

John has no idea how big they are, but his own are slightly pointy and he suddenly wonders if this person has a Thing about ears. Either way, he's going to private this channel because he's not big on causing public scenes were possible. ]

We were pretty much overwhelmed, but I managed to track down one of them to wring a little information out. Hence the fishing for confirmations out here.

Well, it doesn't have to be straight from a bandit. General information on the dragons and shamans helps verify things. Or, you know, someone might have heard rumours another way. Gossip is a thing.

True enough. I've told you what I know, at the very least. They are fanatical enough to place their delusions on us refugees for the mere act of traveling between the cities, so I do not doubt that they would go to extreme measures elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm getting the feeling they're not just after the heart for sentimental decorative reasons. Apparently it's powerful enough on its own, aside from also being the heart of some enormous dragon.

Where I come from, the power of a wyrm is kept in its eyes. With those in hand, a man may summon a god, if he so chooses. Mayhap in this world, the power is kept in the heart.

Well, unless you are able to find a definitive answer regarding what could be done with the heart of a dragon, I suppose we ought to assume the worst, just to be on the safe side.

My impression of the shamans has been if they're interested in summoning anything it'd be more dragons, honestly.

I could see that. A wish to return Wyver to its glory days, such as they were with massive dragons running about.
