Hello there! ( the image that appears is of a smiling blonde woman, healthy and bright looking, dressed now in pristine weight to present herself, projecting poise and elegance and friendly invitation to hear her out. her German Swiss accent is quite strong, though, so hopefully no-one is overly attached to their w's. ) I hope everyone is doing well this evening. I am coming onto the network to reach out to anyone I might not have been able to yet. My name is Angela Ziegler, and I am a doctor from Earth. Human, as you can see. ( a light, pleasant laugh and an even more pleasant smile ) You may also know me as Mercy. It's my agent name from when I was in service to a global peacekeeping organisation known as Overwatch.

I'm from the 21st century, so the treatment that I can offer you is science based ( a slight pause here as if she's considering one last time how to phrase this ) rather than magic based, but I have a good deal of practical experience with general medicine so there's almost nothing I haven't seen or dealt with. My expertise is in applied biotics, and I also have experience with gene therapy, prosthetics, and cybernetics, if there is anyone here who may need more specialised care. My qualifications also include emergency and trauma response so, if you ever find yourself wounded and in need of immediate attention, please do not hesitate to contact me. Think of me as personal 999 for refugees!

If you do come to me for any kind of care, I promise to do the best I can help you, while upholding all the oaths I've taken as a doctor to do no harm and to protect my patients. I'm not charging anything at this time.

And, if you'd like to humour me and help me to understand our group a bit better, I have a set of questions: do you believe you have a soul? What makes you think you do or don't have one? And is such a belief common where you're from? ( she doesn't mention religion, because it isn't strictly speaking a religious idea. she's known plenty of atheists and nay-theists who thought there was something beyond intelligence that made people paramount to other species. whether they called this unique internal animating light a soul or not, it didn't really matter. )

[ Rhys was definitely the mastermind. He was the one who found out about Vasquez buying a Vault Key, and he was the one who came up with the idea to steal the deal with Vaughn and Yvette's help. ]

Well, I hope you get a chance to redeem yourself. Find some worthy treasure here. Becoming a treasure hunter seems like a fitting profession for this world, doesn't it?

From the looks of things, yeah. But I have to admit it's not really the sort of life I've ever pictured myself living? Maybe when I was a kid playing pretend and stuff, but honestly? Running a business has always sort of been my dream. Vault Hunting, finding alien treasure... That's Fiona. I can barely keep myself out of trouble most of the time.

Why not make a business out of it? Ventures like that are costly.

Or are you more interested in providing services to people? There are a lot of types of business.

Well actually... People who can fight and who have magic or really good skills are going to go out on those missions and stuff right? So it's pretty likely they'll be coming back with a bunch of loot. It'd be pretty handy if they had someone who could buy it off them and turn a profit, maybe even supply them with items they'd need.

[ LIKE AN NPC MERCHANT ]

Who knows? Maybe something they bring back will turn out to be valuable enough to turn into a product.

Hm. So you want to become an adventures' broker? I wonder if you could also turn a profit financing those missions as well. Like funding an expedition.

That sounds a bit romantic, don't you think? Funding the dreams and wanderlust of adventurous souls.

I don't know about romantic but from a business standpoint that might not be such a bad idea.

[ One can practically hear the gears inside his head are already starting to turn. ]

I'll have to do a little more canvasing of the market to figure it all out. And...save up a bunch of money. Obviously.

Now, is that something I could claim royalties for? ( teasing, obviously. )

Oh right, the whole doctor thing... Heh. For a second I thought I was looking at a corporate rival there. Man. Old habits, you know?

[ Rhys sighs happily, reminiscing. He doesn't miss the asshole factory that was Hyperion, but he does sure miss the corporate banter and back-and-forth some days. Battles of intellectual and wit........and fingerguns. ]

( oh, well, intellectual, wit, and maybe even fingerguns she likes. but suits? he may get some teasing for that. )

Oh, is that so? Maybe you're lucky after all I'm not interested in starting a business. Could you actually imagine me as a rival?

[rhygret]

I mean...you look like you could be a big shot. Maybe refine your look a little, make it sharper? And I bet you could shut up a whole board room of execs.

[ Which isn't to say she needs to improve her looks at all; simply make them less welcoming, a little more imposing. A bit of eyeliner and some hair gel would probably do it. Maybe some sleek glasses and finely-cut clothing. ]

Sharper, eh?

( there's humour in her voice, and a quirk in her brow, as there's so many possible ways she could use this. she doesn't take it personally, of course, as she actually makes conscious choices that lead her to looking plainer than she might otherwise.

but he is sort of complimenting her, too. implying that she's not that far off from looking like someone powerful. that means a lot in a field like his. ) Something like a quick makeover? Too bad I don't have glasses to remove, then we could make big improvements very easily!

You'd be surprised how much difference a new hairstyle can make. You turn that ponytail into a bun and suddenly you've got a whole new edge to your look.

[ He's playing sure, but he's also...kind of serious? Now that he thinks about it. In another universe Mercy could've totally been a terrifying Ice Queen of the boardroom.

...That's actually appealing in a lot of ways he doesn't want to think about. ]

I take it you're a man who can really respect styled, pulled back hair. ( said so very smoothly and with a straight face, but there's still edge of humour in there somewhere. really, how could she not notice the care he put into his own hair? and the idea of using hair gel herself? she nearly laughed at that. ) The tighter, the better, is it?

Or do you just like it weighted down and trussed into a pleasing shape? I know that kind of thing can be satisfying to look at.

[ My god. Rhys can't tell if she's doing this on purpose to tease him, if she doesn't realize she's doing it, or if the very...open culture of this place is getting to him. ]

[ That comes out of left field for him and Rhys finds himself temporarily lost in their conversation. What smell? ]

( unseen once again, she gestures. this one is running her hands through her wonderful clean and scent-free hair. )

Ohhhh! Oh. Hmm...not really? It doesn't smell weird to me.

[ Rhys doesn't wear obnoxious cologne or anything like that and although Giovanni's nose certainly picks up the scent of his many products, to the average person's nose he just smells like men's shampoo with a bit of hair gel mixed in. It's not too obtrusive.

Or if it is no one's told him. ]

Hmm. I suppose you wouldn't use it, if you didn't like it. Unless you're really committed to suffering for your appearance. Pain is beauty, and so on.

( a pause as she considers. she hums a bit more. ) Well. If I ever do need an expert in haircare, may I count on you?

For sure. I'm not exactly up on what's new and trending in Olympia as far as woman's hair care goes but I think I could pull something together if you needed a few recommendations.

[ FINGERGUNS.

Only he doesn't do them because this is a voice call. They're verbal fingerguns. ]
