As I am sure many of you are aware at this point there seem to be quite a few cultural differences here that many of us are slowly trying to accustom ourselves to upon arriving on El Nysa.
One of the more obvious ones is this planets interests in celebrating ones own... lascivious tendencies.
Surely I can't be the only one to be moderately agitated by the constant barrage of aphrodisiac laced trickery, both man-made and natural on this planet.
I suppose what I'm trying to bring to discussion is, everyone's personal responses to what's forced upon us. Especially those of us who live in Wyver who have no way to avoid it every time the end of the month roles around. You know, since it seems to be a time based situation over Olympia's more location based magic.
[Surely he can't be the only person perturbed by all these darn aphroevents.]

[Says the demon, who doesn't need magic moonlight or special drinks to indulge once in a while.]
But are you so certain you wish to broadcast your monthly lack of inhibitions to the masses like this?

I am bringing the topic to light because I am absolutely certain I am not the only person such things are affecting and I would much rather people be aware of the circumstances they are being thrown into.
[Also it's pissing him off and he wants to find someone who's mutually aggravated enough about it all that he can complain to.]

Perhaps this is simply a matter of cultures clashing. Where I come from, it's considered common sense not to eat or drink anything of dubious origin. Surely if you caught someone in the act of spiking your drink, be it with enchantments or otherwise, you'd have grounds for having them arrested!
Have you considered that perhaps you in particular have become a target? Do you have any ~frequent flyers~ around who always seen to be conveniently nearby when you've been affected?
no subject
Right.
It's my fault that the lagoon I was relaxing in was magiced up to high heaven.
And that the glitter fell on me.
And it was most certainly my damn fault that I'm stuck in a fucking country that for some reason messes with peoples senses every time a full fucking moon shows up.
[Actually Sanzo, it is kind of your fault that you're stuck there instead of in Olympia.]
.... There was one person who I kept running into for most of it though.
[Could it be? He seemed pretty genuine when he said it wasn't him...]

Or the glitter that compelled others to dance?
Now, I'll concede that the light of the moon may simply affect some stronger than others, but you should take into consideration that perhaps you simply have a tendency to lean in very specific direction when your inhibitions are lowered! It seems a better hypothesis to me than accusing an entire society of sexual deviancy.
[Casually accuses him of being a lush, nbd.]
Why, perhaps this person you mentioned has taken notice of this! Seeing the way you behave when no longer suppressing your own, inner desires... whether they're responsible for causing you to be in the state or not, surely they could be accused of taking advantage?
In that case, you'd certainly have my sympathy!
no subject
And then there was the whole bit about taking advantage... That man gratefully never made a move on him yet. But was there a reason he showed up so many times?
The wreck that was the 31st of China's Genjo Sanzo was only growing all the more paranoid.]
So in the end all you're really saying is along the lines of what everyone else has already told me. Just suck up and deal with it, as it were.
[Man, he really does hate when his own advice to others eventually comes back to bite him in the ass.]
And possibly loosen up on other things that may make me more susceptible, I guess.
no subject
But it certainly can't hurt to take a good long look at yourself and the choices you make regardless!
[In which Mephisto is the sassy gay friend Sanzo never knew he never wanted.]
However, if it's a matter to do with magic, I might just be able to lend a hand in finding a solution! I happen to be be a scholar of magic-- and I'm sure there must be a way of suppressing the effects of the second moon, or else certainly they would be far stronger on us while viewing the moon from Thesa station.

[Bullshit. He already knew why he doesn't like these sort of things. But perhaps he needed to meditate on it. Avoiding the issue and pretending it didn't exist obviously wasn't helping him.]
Wait. You know a decent amount of magic? Enough to make a counter spell?
[Ah! Exactly what him and another pent-up leader were talking about! Perhaps they may be able to have this problem solved after all!]
no subject
It's certainly possible. Magic is, by definition, limitless. If a spell exists, it's not too much of a stretch to presume that a counterspell must also exist.
Of course, just like any science, it takes quite a bit of research, along with trial and error, to craft a suitable spell.
no subject
....I will be happy to personally fund any such research into discovering an anti-spell or potion which would negate the affects of such magics.
[Sanzo, you may have a stable income at the temples now but... really?]

[A man needs to eat -- a demon, considerably less so. But he could always use another cashcow tbh. Gotta fund his various vices somehow.]

[He just appreciates the importance of working to benefit ones self.
Let's say, 200 silver per week with regular updates on how it's coming along at the end of the month.
[Which gives him an excuse to escape Wyver during the full moon.]
no subject
Hmm, that sounds fair to me! Of course, as a spell designed to counteract the effects of the moon, I imagine I won't be able to conduct proper research until the next full moon occurs.
And when that times comes-- naturally, I'll need a subject who experiences discomfort with the moon's effects to test it on! Seeing as this is a spell being made for your benefit, shall I assume you'd be a willing test subject?
no subject
[Gosh Mephisto, he's not that gullible. A prude, most certainly, but he'd like think he's a fairly competent business man.]
If you are that inept at finding capable volunteers though it would be more than easy for me to scrounge some up for you.
no subject
I do live in Olympia, you know. I don't make unnecessary trips to Wyver if I can avoid it.
But I sure you've already heard from at least a few refugees who might also wish to avoid the effects of the moon! Finding volunteers should be no problem for you!
no subject
[Especially any place near Simwe Institute, which Sanzo has a strange feeling is your place of work.]
I can already think of a few who may show interest in aiding the endeavor. Depending on their response we can start working immediately.
no subject
Excellent! I'll be sure to let you know once I have a prototype to test, so you can pass along my contact information. Naturally, I'll have to wait for the full moon before I can do any legitimate research.
But I should clarify: a spell to counteract a spell is one thing. But for instances of ingesting a drug that induces similar effects, creating a spell to protect from such a thing will be far more difficult. But considering it's far easier for one to become more vigilant of what they choose to partake in versus avoiding moonlight, I'll be focusing my research on the latter.
Unless you'd simply like something to drastically weaken your libido-- but I wouldn't recommend it.
no subject
I already have one volunteer lined up, working on recruiting more for variables sake.
As for developing a potion being slightly more difficult, I understand that to be the case and am willing to recruit someone who specializes in such if you need the help.
[He's just casually going to ignore the libido comment.]
