So all this tension between Wyver and Olympia and stuff has me wondering...
Does this remind anyone else of before a war broke out in their homes? Granted I was like.. a little, little kid when mine first started but I remembered this kinda junk going on.
Earthers vs. spacers even out in the streets, that kinda thing.
People acting like they're better than other people because some politician says so, or, you know, some legacy story that makes one 'better' but, you know, when a place is destroyed because some politician wants money or whatever everyone starts looking a lot alike, right?
Also curious if anyone's planning on joining up with one side or the other and why, if you are..
No ulterior motives and definitely not taking names for a roster for someone or anything, just curious on why a refugee would feel so connected to a place already or something like that.

That's the worst thing.

[ Man, maybe he and this guy have more in common than he thought. Duo kind of pauses before sending the next, taking in to consideration the pit it puts in his stomach to think about fighting again, half excitement and willingness, half... disgusted he might have to do it again. ]
Yeah. Especially knowing what we're individually capable of, I'm sure.

[ In the alley he's decided to sleep in at the moment, he's curled around his communicator, looking at the single word, unsure of what else to else to say. ]

[ Another momentary hesitation - the single word saying more than he cares to admit it does. He gets it in such a visceral way he almost wants to meet this person and commiserate over it, but on the same coin... they both deserve to also move on from that kind of thing. To move on from talking about it in terms of 'right now' and talk instead about the past, about something that's long gone. It'll never be a fond memory, but... ]
I get it. Better than I like to admit, really. Let's just say that I wouldn't mind not being that guy again for a long time.

[ He's never learned how to leave the battlefield. He wants and doesn't want to meet this person; he doesn't think he has anything to offer them, but feeling less alone...
Wouldn't be worth knowing that someone else is like this, broken like he is. Even though he knows it's common enough. It's illogical, but he's got enough on his mind. ]

I don't know if it ever really stops and goes away. I haven't been out long and it's.. hard to talk to other people about it because my experience wasn't the same as theirs.
But for me... who I am here talking to you and who I am when I'm fighting are two separate people.
They don't intersect.
no subject
I have to keep them separate. I don't know if I could stand it if they met.
no subject
Yeah.
I don't know who that person would be or if I would like him at all.
no subject
And I don't think the one I'd want would live.
no subject
Yeah, same here. One isn't quite as cut throat as the other. By a long shot.

I wish the world didn't make people like that.
It should be simple. But somehow, it isn't.
no subject
Hey at least you're still hopeful enough to wish.
Some people aren't as faithful about it.
no subject
What else can I do?
What can anyone do?
no subject
Anyone with considerable power and leverage can do a lot more than the common man unfortunately. It's annoying as shit but it's the truth.
I changed the flow of that in my own world, but only with the help of other people.
By myself I would've been a no one, and here.. well, it's not really all that different.
no subject
Having the power to do something doesn't mean you should every time.
How do you know you're doing the right thing?
You never really do, do you?
no subject
Can't tell ya honestly. Never been involved in that whole ~decision maker~ process and all.
And no, you don't ever really.
What's right and wrong depends on perception.
no subject
Or is right and wrong always the same and people make up reasons to make it different?
no subject
This is why I'm not a philosopher, man.
Less to contemplate all the time.
