So all this tension between Wyver and Olympia and stuff has me wondering...
Does this remind anyone else of before a war broke out in their homes? Granted I was like.. a little, little kid when mine first started but I remembered this kinda junk going on.
Earthers vs. spacers even out in the streets, that kinda thing.
People acting like they're better than other people because some politician says so, or, you know, some legacy story that makes one 'better' but, you know, when a place is destroyed because some politician wants money or whatever everyone starts looking a lot alike, right?
Also curious if anyone's planning on joining up with one side or the other and why, if you are..
No ulterior motives and definitely not taking names for a roster for someone or anything, just curious on why a refugee would feel so connected to a place already or something like that.

You’re not the only one I’d bet but, you know. Uses for everything.

I take it you've decided against aligning yourself, then?
no subject
Yeah. At least as of yet. Depending on how things unravel a guy can change his choices.

[It's not something he can fully comprehend, not something he can entirely grasp. Not when his entire existence has been spent in subjugation to the will of his creator, when - until arrival here - he'd made very few choices at all. Even now, aligning himself with Olympia, it's less a choice and more a continuation of what he's been made to be. He'd taken this job with the Guard because it felt closest to his designated purpose in his own world, and naturally loyalty and obedience follow. He's never learned, really, to be any other way.]

I've learned what happens when you make snap decisions with bad intel. Not looking for a repeat on that.

no subject
Yeah.
No. I'm good on that.
no subject
What place have you chosen to reside in?
no subject
Currently in Wyver.
They’re more like the people I’m used to.
no subject
[In truth, he's probably better suited to Wyver, but the whole place had looked so different to what he's accustomed to that he'd found it more than a little unnerving.]
no subject
Nah I'm actually from a space colony so.. less wildlife and more the general attitude of the people of Wyver.
Rougher people, you know. Less fancy clothes and more 'I'm gonna knock you out.'

Yeah. The pomp and circumstance thing is not my look.
Bad dress sense? Shit, they don’t do too bad. It’s not my style but what do I care?

Elegance is for people that have the time for it.
I'm just trying to stay ahead and stuff my account. Could care less about the extras.
no subject
[He hasn't a care for it himself, having never needed to handle it back there, his only interest in it now stretching to the suits and flowers he likes to buy, and occasionally (though not always) the rent.]
no subject
Helps keep you alive, doesn't it?
I don't intend to go back to sleeping rough.

The charmed life, huh?
no subject
[Something not like that at all, but he isn't about to expand on it here.]
no subject
Vague is boring, you know.

Is there that much of a difference, depending on how you grew up or whatever?
[ He only says it so flippantly because he knows some people would consider his childhood a horror story and well.. didn't really blame them. ]
no subject
[It's how he sees it, at least. A story of artificially created monsters in a place not unlike hell-- what passes for his childhood is a particular brand of horror.]
no subject
Care to tell me about it? I'm curious now.
