IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS SOME VERSION OF COMMUNICATION, AKIN TO MESSAGES RECEIVED VIA RAVEN. I CANNOT YET UNDERSTAND HOW SUCH THINGS ARE POSSIBLE, NOR CAN I UNDERSTAND HOW I AM EXPECTED TO SO ACCURATELY PRESS MY FINGERS TO SUCH PAINFULLY SMALL LETTERS ON THIS THING CALLED A "KEY BOARD."
[Ned is part of the Old Dads club; he has accidentally turned on his caps lock and has absolutely no idea how to turn it off, nor does he have any social precedent for understanding how hostile this makes him look.]
I AM TOLD THAT I AM IN A CITY CALLED WYVER, A NAME AS FOREIGN TO ME AS THE REST OF THIS IS. THE LOCALS HERE ARE NOT INCREDIBLY FORTHCOMING WITH ASSISTANCE OR INFORMATION, AND AS SUCH, ANYTHING THAT YOU MIGHT OFFER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU FOR WHATEVER YOU MIGHT PROVIDE.

[ tbh, that sounds like the life. He gets a taste of it every year with Torb's family. No longer, he supposes. ]
I suppose I am, though generally, I just go by Reinhardt. There was really only one person who called me Wilhelm, and no one called me Sir. A knight is not his title, after all. He is his deeds!

INDEED, AND SPOKEN LIKE A KNIGHT TRULY WORTHY OF THE USE OF SER, IF YOU'LL ALLOW IT. THOUGH I WILL, OF COURSE, CALL YOU THAT WHICH YOU PREFER.

You honor me, Lord Stark. And it would be an honor to be called Ser by you. So I will accept it.
-- Ser Reinhardt Wilhelm, lieutenant. Knight of Germany, Last of the Crusaders
okay but i love this??????????? so much??
I WOULD NOT HONOR A MAN WHO HADN'T EARNED IT, SER WILHELM.
-- LORD EDDARD STARK, LORD OF WINTERFELL, WARDEN OF THE NORTH, HAND OF THE KING
it's wonderful~

ONE OF MY SONS IS CURRENTLY ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE ME, BUT SHOULD I REQUIRE ASSISTANCE, I WILL PROUDLY AND GLADLY CALL UPON A MAN AS SELFLESS AS YOU. AND IF YOU SHOULD REQUIRE ANYTHING OF ME IN FUTURE, YOU ONLY NEED TO ASK, AND IT WILL BE YOURS.
MIGHT I ASK YOU A QUESTION, WHILE I WAIT FOR MY SON TO FIND ME?

I will remember this offer, Lord Stark, and I will hope that your son gets to you soon.
Please, feel free to ask my anything. If I have the answer, you will have it, my lord.

WAS IT VERY DIFFERENT FROM HERE? I FIND MYSELF .. OUT OF MY DEPTHS, IN A LAND SO ADVANCED AS THIS.

However, my world is actually far more advanced than this one. We have this sort of technology and then some. For example, my shield is made out of something we call Hard Light and we have...horseless carriages that float off the ground. If anything, this world is a step back for me. However, we do not have magic at all. In my world, such a thing doesn't exist.
But I think you'll adapt, my lord. You'll learn and perhaps outpace even those of us for whom this sort of thing is second nature.

THANK YOU, HOWEVER, FOR SPEAKING SO CANDIDLY ABOUT YOUR HOME AND SOME OF ITS ATTRIBUTES.

I only ask because I am 61 years of age.
Every single day I am here, I learn something new. You are never too old to learn and never too old to put those lessons into practice until you have mastered them. If you are old as I am, then you already know we have something younger generations might not possess. And that is the wisdom to learn from our weaknesses and the patience to slowly make them our strengths.
I have faith in you, Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell. You will master this world. It will not defeat you with it's modern ways. You will adapt and you will overcome. That is what I believe.

I HAVE HAD 36 NAME DAYS IN MY LIFE, THOUGH WAR AND HARDSHIP HAVE AGED ME WELL BEYOND, I'M AFRAID. I DOUBT THERE IS ANYONE, IN THIS WORLD OR THE LAST, WHO'D HAVE ASCRIBED ME SUCH AN AGE. BUT THOSE HARDSHIPS HAVE INDEED PROVIDED ME WISDO THAT I'D NOT HAVE LEARNT ANY OTHER WAY, AND IT IS BEST TO LEARN THEM EARLY THAN TOO LATE.
YOUR CONFIDENCE IN ME IS OVERWHELMINGLY UNDESERVED, SER WILHELM, BUT I WILL CHERISH IT FOR ALL OF MY DAYS HERE. AND I WILL REMEMBER IT, WHENEVER I MIGHT OTHERWISE FEEL DEFEATED. I DON'T THINK A SIMPLE 'THANK YOU' WILL SUFFCE HERE, BUT PLEASE KNOW IT IS TRULY AND UTTERLY HEARTFELT.

And you are very welcome, my friend. Any time.
