IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS SOME VERSION OF COMMUNICATION, AKIN TO MESSAGES RECEIVED VIA RAVEN. I CANNOT YET UNDERSTAND HOW SUCH THINGS ARE POSSIBLE, NOR CAN I UNDERSTAND HOW I AM EXPECTED TO SO ACCURATELY PRESS MY FINGERS TO SUCH PAINFULLY SMALL LETTERS ON THIS THING CALLED A "KEY BOARD."

[Ned is part of the Old Dads club; he has accidentally turned on his caps lock and has absolutely no idea how to turn it off, nor does he have any social precedent for understanding how hostile this makes him look.]

I AM TOLD THAT I AM IN A CITY CALLED WYVER, A NAME AS FOREIGN TO ME AS THE REST OF THIS IS. THE LOCALS HERE ARE NOT INCREDIBLY FORTHCOMING WITH ASSISTANCE OR INFORMATION, AND AS SUCH, ANYTHING THAT YOU MIGHT OFFER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU FOR WHATEVER YOU MIGHT PROVIDE.

Lord Stark, forgive me for my candor, but I must ask this. How old are you?

I only ask because I am 61 years of age.

Every single day I am here, I learn something new. You are never too old to learn and never too old to put those lessons into practice until you have mastered them. If you are old as I am, then you already know we have something younger generations might not possess. And that is the wisdom to learn from our weaknesses and the patience to slowly make them our strengths.

I have faith in you, Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell. You will master this world. It will not defeat you with it's modern ways. You will adapt and you will overcome. That is what I believe.

There is a saying in my world that was old when I was still young. That it it not the years, it is the mileage. You and I both have had many hard journeys and I am certain that won't change here. But know you have an ally in me and should you ever need the reminder that there is a man twice your age that believes you can do anything, you need only give me a call.

And you are very welcome, my friend. Any time.
