 So... I think we've all been trying to get to know each other, right? That seems like a great idea! Since we're all stuck in this same boat together and all. [Translation: Can we please talk about something, anything other than killing people? She's still not sure if you're all just joking or if serious.

She's not sure which would be creepier.]

So, what sort of things does everyone like to do for fun? I know we kinda had that on the magic nametags we were given, but we've all got hobbies, right? Maybe we can still do them here! 

I like to cook, I was on the high dive and swim team back home, I was part of a singing group with my friends, I love clothes and costumes and designing fashion, and one day I want to be a ship captain like my dad! 

What kind of things were you all into where you came from? Anything fun you want to get up to?

Haha, it's sort of funny that you'd say that, because my friends and I almost called ourselves "Three Mermaids" when we were trying to think of a name... [And she does have that one song about all the fish. Come to think of it, they would fit in disturbingly well in Atlantica.] I like to do that too! I've always liked just being on the ocean... I want to have a big ship like my dad's, one day.

[He lets out a little contented sigh.] I never got to go to the ocean. I bet it would have been so fun.

No, we're not mermaids or anything! It's just that we all-- at least, everyone but Riko-- grew up by the ocean so we all kinda were thinking about water themes? I'm just a normal human being like you, though! [Oops.]

Oh cool, well that would be way more cool if you had a tail. I was a merman once. It was pretty fun!

[Because of course it is.]

You lived by the ocean? That must have been nice. Did you like it?

[He laughs softly. Yeah. Human. Sure.]

I loved it! I miss living by the sea so much, you have no idea! [Hang on.] --wait... you said you were a merman once? You mean, like some sort of costume?

[melodiouspacifist]

I think living by the ocean would be really cool. I think if I could live anywhere, ever, it would be there!

[He tilts his head curiously.]

Costume? Nope, I just visited Atlantica. Great world, but it's all underwater, so the magic changes your form. Xiggy's an octopus man and I'm a merman! It was the best world I've ever been to.

[ayes]

[She wants to address that first part, but the second.] I can't tell if you're making fun of me or not...

[melodiouspacifist]

[He blinks a moment. Hmm. Did he sound like he was?]

I'm not.

[ayes]

You actually turned into an octopus?!

[melodiouspacifist]

No, I turned into a merman. Xigbar turned into an octopus-man. Instead of a fish tail he had tentacles. He kept swatting me with them.

[ayes]

Oh. ...wow. That's, uh. I don't know anyone who something like that's happened before. The worst I've got is that weird dream Riko had where we all had pig noses...

[melodiouspacifist]

Weird things happen all the time when you travel to different worlds!

[ayes]

You know, I'm starting to pick that up now that I'm here...

This is the first time I've ever done anything like that, though. Back home, we just had the one world!

[melodiouspacifist]

You think so? Most people don't know about the many worlds, it's kind of just something we do.

[ayes]

--wait, are you trying to say that there could be people who... go through different worlds back home, and I wouldn't know about it?

[melodiouspacifist]

That's right! There could be! That'd be amazing right? It can be really hard to know what people do!

[He's way too exuberant about this.]

Whoa.

I don't even really know what to think about that... that's a crazy idea.

[melodiouspacifist]

It's hard to tell, you can't know everyone in your world right?

[ayes]

There's like 7 billion people in the world! I barely know... maybe a hundred? But that sort of thing would be huge news if people knew about it.

[melodiouspacifist]

You can't just tell people though, imagine what would happen if they did!

[ayes]

Well, there'd probably be a mass panic about the existence of other worlds, governments would argue about what to do with them, and...

...okay, I see your point.

[melodiouspacifist]

Yeah, but it's really cool to think about. You should try and go to other worlds if you get the chance. Best adventure ever!

[ayes]

Uh, does this count as a different-world adventure yet?

[melodiouspacifist]

[He hums for a moment.]

Yes, I think so!

[ayes]

Then I guess I'm having one already! Even if it's kind of an inadvertent one.
