Hey, I'm the Exile. I know, weird name.

So, hear me out.

[ Hear is all you can do anyway, as the Exile is big on not showing her face. ]

Would people be oh so opposed to grab your stuff and move somewhere else in the planet? Away from Olympia and Wyver and whoever else might be out there?

[ It's not exile if you leave willingly right? And if nobody kicks you out. ]

And before someone invites me to leave alone, I'm more interested in building something lasting. I can't do that by myself.

But ask yourselves this: would they let us? These powers that be. Just how much freedom we have?

Think about it.

[ a chuckle on the other end. ]

Does anyone ever want to be a leader?

[ though, that does give him a thought. ]

I'd know just the guy. Unfortunately, he's still asleep up on the Station. But then again, he always did like to keep everyone waiting.

[ and really, it was too bad that he was asleep. he'd already dealt with this before the Storm hit. ]

And those people rarely end up being good leaders, don't they?

[ he's seen far too many horrible leaders. people who got too cocky. hell, some might even count him among that number.

but he's never paid them all that much mind. ]

Of course not. It's a lot easier to integrate into something that's already here than risk striking out on your own. [ a pause. ] What about you? Not one for cold wars, I take it? "Exile" has a certain ring to it.

[ funny how trouble always seems to find that type. ]

[ the woman's words briefly make him of his mother, and how she'd wanted a world without conflict, though it really shouldn't. after all, he barely even knew her. ]

I suppose that I can respect that. Me? I'd like to see what both sides have to offer before making a decision.

[ there was more to it than that, but he's always been one to play his cards close to his heart. ]

I guess it makes sense. Voluntary, or involuntary?

[ not that he necessarily expects an answer to this question. ]

We'll have to see what happens. But, here's the thing with cold wars. They always find a way to heat back up.

[ or they do when mutually-assured destruction isn't on the table. ]

Someone who wants to make a statement, I'd imagine.

[ but is she the type? who knows. ]

You know, that was a common phrase back where I was from.

[ the more things change... ]

Not a fan of your real name?

[ of course, he won't insult her by asking what it is. after all, he would never give away his name. ]
