Hey. My name's Qrow.

[ A familiar greeting, not that anybody is familiar with him! His voice is gruff and tired, but that's his everyday voice. ]

That guy everyone's been chasing after is dead. [ A slight pause, and in a softer tone: ] Killed himself.

He gave some details to the cure, though. Said that we need a plant called the Oshai Leaf for it, and it can only be found in Wyver.

Wyver's been hit with the same disease, too. No idea what the situation's like there, but they can't find the cure for it either. Another ingredient for the cure can only be found here.

That's all I know. If you've got questions, ask. I'll try to answer 'em.

[ The sound of liquid hitting metal can be heard, but that's just him moving his flask closer to his mouth. ]

Killed himself? ... It sounds as if he took the cowards way out. Do you have any ideas as to why he would do that?

[ To soldiers — to people who have a mission — suicide is the only choice in a situation where they're in enemy hands. They would undergo torture, otherwise. A quick and painless death such as letting poison enter one's veins seems like... the best way to go.

Qrow wouldn't likely do something like that, but if asked by the man he works (worked) for, he would do it. ]

He didn't want to be surrendered to their enemy, I'm guessing.

Hm, that does make sense... but, it doesn't fit right with me.

[ Maybe because A2 is used to people wanting to, y'know, actually live. Or, at least she thinks that they should want to do that. ]

Humans are strange creatures.

If you're talking about me, then yeah... I am pretty strange.

[ There's a slight hint of affection when he makes that comment. Qrow is a joke -- at least, that's what he thinks.

He also means that the shady man was not human. ]

Why just you? [ qrow, you're definitely strange. it slowly hits her. ]

What was he? If you don't mind me asking.

[ Matter-of-factly: ]

An android.

I must admit, I'm surprised to hear there are androids here. But, my world wouldn't be the only one with them.

I assume that it was in his programming to end his life should he be caught.

[unpromising]

If it was in his programming to do that, then he wouldn't have talked in the first place.

[ ... he thinks. He's not good with androids and robots and tech. ]

Maybe. He could have easily not known -- I had a bomb inside of me which I didn't become aware of until my friends... blew up.

[ What the hell. ]

No offense, but this is why tech shouldn't be trusted.

I'm confused as to why tech shouldn't be trusted, as you say. It's those that are in charge that people cannot easily trust.

[ A deep sigh. ]

Where I was from, there was a country that relied heavily on machinery. They were rich, sure, and they were also powerful. Their soldiers were androids. Effective, but only in theory.

A bunch of 'em were brought to a festival where the entire world was watching. Got hacked by the enemy and started shooting the innocent. Guess it's the people in charge's fault for letting that happen, too, but you wouldn't be able to hack into hundreds of soldier's brains if they were organic.

Are they androids in having their own AI and thoughts? ... It feels quite strange for that to happen and unfortunate as well. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

[ They're supposed to protect, not kill. ]

[ He usually didn't let them speak before he personally dismantled them with his bare hands. ]

To what? To hurt people? Humans do it all the time.

That means they can't be trusted either and they're no different to a machine.

[ He can't help but puff out a laugh at that. ]

Guess you got a point there.

So when it comes down to it, we aren't very different.

So both Olympia and Wyver were targeted by the same group?

That's good to know that we have some information about the cure— did he say anything else about the second ingredient found here?

No. Said it's for them to find out.

Wyver. He meant it's for Wyver to find out.

So basically he wasn't telling us in case it gets back to Wyver what the second ingredient is? [it makes this even more frustrating because how were they supposed to help anyone affected if they didn't know what the second ingredient even was]

I guess that doesn't leave us much to go with to find it either.

Nope. All we have now is knowledge. We'll have to investigate things further if we want to act.

If the information can be trusted we at least can rule out Wyver had any involvement in it though that's a big leap of faith.

[ But apart of a cure and Wyver being blasted. Definitely curious. There's a long pause on his end before he speaks; ]

Why do you think he told you about how to cure it? What did he have to gain if he was just going to kill himself?

... I think he thought I would've let him go.

[ Because... Qrow did lie and say he'd let S-8 leave!! ]
