[ first off: don't ask questions about the username. Bigby assumes it's subtle enough considering no one here knows him as the Big Bad Wolf, but he doesn't really... realize... the implications of the abbreviation he chose. oh well.
there's more pressing matters to attend to. ]
Not even here a goddamn month and shit goes to hell. Because of course. So much for peace.
[ on camera is a man who doesn't seem very pleased with the current chaos of the recent bombing. a moment is given to take a drag of his cigarette between words, blowing a puff of smoke straight towards whoever is watching. ]
I need information on the fugitives. Don't care if you're best friends or you've crossed paths with them once. Backgrounds, real names, affiliations, common hangouts. Also addresses on where they live. Give me a scent to work with and they'll be found.
[ another inhale of nicotine before he smothers the embers on a nearby surface. he's still as displeased as five seconds ago. ]
Also don't really care if they're in deep with this Shady Fucker or just a matter of "wrong place, wrong time". They have questions to answer one way or another. Got a problem with that? Take a wild guess on how I feel.

[ he speaks to her deductions being spot on. she even one-ups him when referencing that there appears to be more to the both of them than initially believed. there's no way Bigby could have made an assumption that led him to assume she was more than a woman in her thirties. shows that she is better at hiding her traits than him, apparently. ]
I might not know you well enough, but I think it's fair to say this could be a bluff of some kind to get me to go first.
[ if she knows how it is to want to mitigate information leaking, she should empathize. hopefully. ]
no subject
[She's very tired of this planet, Bigby, it means she's got a shorter fuse than usual. Still, while the sarcasm is dry and drawling, it isn't actually nasty, and it's not meant to offend.]
I don't know how old I am, not anymore.
no subject
Smartass. [ that's all he's got to say to that. her answer is vague, but he thinks on his and realizes it's not much better. ] We're in the same boat. Though I guess you could put mine more in the range of centuries. Have fun trying to narrow that down.
[ possibly millennium, but who is counting? not this guy. ]
You look good for being ageless, if that helps any.
no subject
[She drawls it out-- god forbid she give a genuine answer in return for that compliment-- but it's rather nice to hear.
Good lord, though, that's the second ageless person she's met here. How many of them are there? But oh, thinking of Ardyn reminds her, and she adds:]
You seem fond of exchanges. I'll tell you a bit about my abilities if you inform me of your own.
no subject
[ it's not like the man is used to people flirting with him or anything. he won't lose any sleep. ]
Scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. You should know all about that if you've been around as long as you say. [ SHRUG. ] Ladies first.
no subject
The babiest immortal ever, that's her.
Anyway!]
All right.
[Hmm . . . well, Ardyn already knows this one. It's still not something she'll share with most people, but Bigby can be an exception. So Rosalind waits a moment, staring blankly at him, and then--
Vanishes is, perhaps, the best word for it. She's simply there one second and gone the next, her disappearance as soft as a shadow and as (apparently) effortless as a sigh. But oh, there she is: this time appearing right next to him, glancing up in mild amusement.]
Ta-dah.
no subject
I'm waiting―
[ not for long. she's gone and he shuts up immediately. just as he looks around, she's next to him, acting as if she was a magician who had pulled a fast one on her audience. Bigby sputters his lips immediately. ]
Well, that's cute. You're ageless and you can teleport. That makes it... what? Time-related, I'm guessing?
[ just a wild guess from a wolf that pretends to be a human that works as a sheriff. ]
no subject
[It's an order, not a suggestion. But the fact he'd guessed accurately is impressive, and she nods, a little smile coming to her lips.]
Time and space, yes. Well done, Mr. Wolf.
[Hey, that's kind of a compliment!]
Encountered many people who can do that, or are you simply observant enough to put two and two together?
no subject
[ time and space. ohhhh. Bigby may have guessed right, but he isn't about to figure out the science that goes behind that in the slightest. at her question, he figures it's about time to give her something in return. ]
I've known of people who can do something similar, but it wasn't because of time or space. You're a first in that regard.
[ so yes. simply observant. ]
Is there a way to explain it without making my head hurt? You can keep it as a party trick if not.
no subject
[If only because she doesn't want to get into the whole I died thing right this second. If nothing else, that'd put him two up on her.]
Your turn.
no subject
[ there's no way he is about to go full furry in this poor woman's home. he won't even opt to go into his second form, assuming that would be waaay too much hair to see on a man's body so soon. Bigby extends a singular hand out towards her. before she thinks he's trying to hold onto hers, she'll notice how it changes. nails grow long and sharp to a point, and the hair on his forearm thickens. ]
Just a glimpse. I... you don't really need to worry about seeing the whole thing. Here's hoping you don't ever need to.
no subject
Well. I'll certainly be eager for you to come prying if all your tricks are this intriguing.
[She glances up at him.]
Is there something inherently dangerous about your other form?
no subject
with a sigh, though, he motions with his fingers that she can inspect if she wants. ]
Don't be too eager. You'll come off as you like me or something.
[ smirk. what kind of flirtatious bs is this. ]
There's something very dangerous about my other form. If there's ever a day you have to see it, that means someone pissed me off or we're in deep shit. Hopefully neither happens.
no subject
You're one of the less insufferable people I've met around here. Add to the fact you're not a teenager or in your early twenties, and with a little work you might just make the list.
Are you going to tell me what thing, specifically, is so dangerous about your other form?
no subject
[ she makes it sound as if earning a place on her list of people to like is something worthy of a challenge or even an achievement. that has him rolling his eyes. ] I'll be honest. Can't remember the last time I've gone out of my way to earn someone's affection. Don't hold your breath. [ allowing her to touch his hand as casually as she does would be considered rare enough. she won't know that, of course. ]
Nuh uh. You can think about possibly expanding on that little party trick of yours. Quid pro quo.
no subject
Very well.
[Let's see . . .]
It began with an assassination attempt. A man was paid to overload one of my machines, making our-- my death an accident.
[There's no going back after that slip, but Rosalind forges on ahead. Robert isn't a secret, but she doesn't precisely want to get into him right now.]
But the machine the man chose was one that was designed to create doorways in time and space, giving me the ability to see into other worlds. So when it overloaded, it didn't kill me-- and yet it did, all at once. It scattered my cells across all the worlds, giving me the ability to not only see how every choice plays out, but to move among time and space with ease.
Explanation enough for you?
no subject
[ surely she has gone through this and gotten some strange faces. Bigby doesn't make one of those, per se, but he does take his hand back (she was holding it long enough) and fold his arms to look at her as if in deep thought. that's a lot of information to swallow, and while trying to wrap his mind around how all of that works and just how damned powerful that makes her...
... he retraces to the beginning. because whether she wants to get into him or not, he did indeed hear that slip of the tongue. pardon how lewd that sounds. ]
So you're not the only one capable of doing that. Can't help but think of how dangerous that sounds. More dangerous than me.
no subject
So there's really no reason to fear. And really, perhaps she's got it wrong; he's hardly racing out the door with axe in hand to try and find the person she'd hinted at. ]
Powerful and dangerous are two different concepts; don't mistake one for the other.
[A beat, and then:]
Are you threatened by it?
no subject
Oh, I'm well aware. Let's leave it to me to judge which one that makes you.
[ she calls him out on if he's affected by the power she wields. he initially sucks on his teeth, wanting to refute her words immediately. not a second later and he's stepping forward, including himself inside of her personal bubble to give the impression that he is, in fact, not threatened. ]
I'm interested. Maybe I need to keep my eyes on you. Can you still move along space and time like you did before? See every choice pan out?
[ and that's when he leans in further. ]
If so, what's about to happen next?
no subject
What's about to happen next? She would have known once. She would have seen every single possibility, every fraction of a chance. In one reality, perhaps, he'd grab her; in another maybe he'd simply stay looming over her. In a third he might try and frighten her further, sparking a confrontation and thus seeing for himself how her powers work.
Ah, well. She doesn't have that advantage anymore, but that's all right. She'd dealt with more than her fair share of men who thought that they might intimidate her simply because they were taller or stronger or simply male. She can handle another, even if he is supernatural.
She'd leaned back as he'd drawn in, but now Rosalind straightens up. They're only a few scant inches from each other, which means he gets to see the little hint of a smirk playing about her lips as she drawls:]
You're so eager to get near me, Mr. Wolf. I'll keep an eye on you, I'll come prying into your business, what if I have to tail you . . . what's going to happen next? I should think you're about to put your hands on me in one way or another-- or do you just want a kiss?
[There's a gamble. He'll either fluster or raise the stakes further, and while she's intrigued by him (in a fair few ways, she can admit that to herself; he's handsome in a scruffy sort of way), she's not about to kiss a man she barely knows.]
no subject
too late for all of that. he's up in her business now, calling her out on her supposed omniscience. Bigby finds himself surprised that she is so quick to rebuttal with putting him on the spot instead. he doesn't allow his face to show said surprise, mind you, but he will give her points for standing her ground. just as he is about to respond, she goes on about him touching or kissing her. that. well. that earns his eyebrows lowering and his head canting to the side. ]
What— what the fuck? What the fuck.
[ she's effectively flustered him, alright. he takes a step back, followed with another. Rosalind has successfully regained her personal space. kudos. ]
Lady, you may want to get your powers checked out. As hopeful as you may be, I wasn't about to touch or kiss you. Not usually a... interrogation tactic of mine.
[ maybe it should be? he wonders how differently things would go if he did in fact kiss Rosalind just to shut her up. if she entices him to do that, she gets her way and is proven right. perhaps that is how her power works? talk about a headache. ]
no subject
Then keep your distance next time, Mr. Wolf. I don't take kindly to people getting too close.
[But it's no fun if he thinks she was serious. God forbid he forever think of her as the woman lusting after him. And so she soon adds:]
And don't flatter yourself. Out of all the choices I could have made, that was what would make you skitter back the fastest.
[There. That sets the record straight and neatly implies she's still got her powers of omniscience, so well done Rosalind.]
no subject
There. Happy? I'll stay riiiight over here.
[ cue him taking a seat in some of her furniture, rolling his head back and letting out a deep, frustrated sigh. Bigby is feeling like a total sucker right now, and he's mad at himself more than her. he gives it a few more seconds before casting his gaze back towards the woman once more. ]
You're damn lucky I didn't call your bluff and kiss you just to shut you the hell up, Ms. Lutece. Still doesn't answer if your powers work or not, but... we'll let that slide for now.
no subject
[It'd take a goddamn miracle, frankly, because Rosalind has never taken well to being told to go silent.
But though that's challenging, she doesn't say it as nastily as she might. It's more teasing than anything, as Rosalind tips her head at him, still smirking, and rests her hips back against the wall.]
Now, then. Given I did answer your question on how my disappearance works, you owe me an answer. What's so dangerous about your other form?
no subject
[ he speaks literally, because talking would be hard when there's a beast of a man crashing his mouth into yours. Bigby takes no offense from her whether or not her words insisted she wouldn't dare do such a thing. considering he had no idea the conversation would even dare take a turn like that, he's more than happy to leave it behind.
maybe he shouldn't have said what he just said, then. ]
Insistent on knowing that, huh? Maybe I should come up with some ridiculous bluff to make you flustered. [ yeah, he's petty. but he lets out another grumble and continues. ] ... I have more than one. Each worse than the next in terms of what I can do in them.
The biggest one is the one that no one needs to see, I hope. The one with the most skeletons in the closet.
