hello everyone it is jade and makoto!!!
jade speaking
when you had the big beach party where we met all the new people makoto and i found the skeleton of a creature!
it was very sad :(
in any case she and i took a tooth from its skeleton
with help from my spacey powers :p

Anyway, we should get to the point of this posting.
I requested Jade’s help to see if the tooth had any sort of applicated effects.
We noticed when mixing it with some painkillers we had on hand that it dramatically increased their potency.
We aren’t licensed chemists, but we figured it might have some effect we could reproduce and use for our cause.
Of course, any good experiment needs subjects.

technically i am a licensed chemist!
but its true that just us two is not enough data hehe

Right. So we’d like to ask for some help.
You can meet us both this afternoon in my office at the Simwe Institute for an interview.
I can see about possible compensation for your participation, but I can’t guarantee it.
We’d also love to hear from anyone with any expertise in chemistry or medicinal science.

[ for anyone interested in threading an appointment or experimental trial, PM Makoto or Jade’s account ([personal profile] witchhooded)! we’ll set up a private log for that at the start of the month.

also you can expect tags from both Makoto and Jade. Jade will reply with her color, but Makoto won't. she only used color text because Jade said it would be eyecatching. whoops ]

It sounds astoundingly useful, I agree.
Do you think it could enhance the effect of antibiotics or other medications?
Have you been able to find what gives it its enhancing properties?
There are plants from my home that could be used in the same way with alchemical reactions, and those had a wide array of uses.

yes to antibiotics and other medications :)
firstly we want to find a dosage with painkillers that doesnt cause full body effects
after that we want to figure out what more we can do with it
as for the enhancing properties.......
not yet :(
but thats amazing!
do you have experience with that plant outside of taking it?

Only a little. I know how to combine it in certain recipes for specific effects, but not the processes behind any of it.
I'd be happy to tell you what little I do know, but I'm not sure how much help I'll be.

well i dont think theres any harm in sharing!
there has to be something everyone can do to help
and information is always appreciated
i am curious if you have found anything similar to this plant on el nysa however.....?

I'd be happy to share, then.
I've found similar-looking plants, but they don't seem to have the same effects.
Many of the things used for alchemy in my world resemble common elements, though — plants, stones, the like.
These things are imbued with power by the areas around them that produces effects.
More than that, I'm not sure how to explain.

no this is great!!!!
i am not unfamiliar with the concept you are describing at all though i dont know if i would say that my worlds version of alchemy worked like this!
actually i would say it.... definitely did not hehe
but regardless of that i think i am getting the idea
my only question would be if you think its possible the tooth and plant you have familiarity with would similar in potency
did you use a lot of it or a little of it at a time?

Both, depending on the desired effect. Relatively small quantities were required for rarer materials - for example, fewer golden discs would be needed than bronze or silver discs. The same potion could be created using five bottles of sand or three mystical flames.
