Hello! I'm 9S, and I'm testing out the capabilities of these devices we've been given. I'm just looking at some technical stuff so, uh, feel free to disregard if it's not your sort of thing.

I know we've all lost our homes recently and that's pretty rough to deal with, but... if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me if you came from Earth? And if you did, what did you like about it?

[ A beat. ]

You can do that if you're from somewhere else too! Earth's the only planet I had experience with before coming here, but I'd be happy to hear about other worlds as well.

I guess there really are multiple Earths... Someone was from 2012, which, where I'm from, humans were gone? I think. My history's a bit spotty.

Anyway, I'm from 12005.

I liked being able to ride the trapar waves. I could fly. It was amazing.

Where I'm from, they were still around in 2012. [ Read into that what you will. ]

Are you an android? Or something else? [ Please don't be a machine. ] I didn't think anyone else was from that far out.

Trapar waves? I can't say I've done that before. It sounds kinda fun.

I'm not an android. [There. Half answer.] There's no Trapar without the Scub, so I can't show anyone how it works. Think of the air having its own waves, and riding them.

H[ e does notice the delay, but he's not sure what gave her pause. Androids and machines are all he knows, especially around that timeframe. He's not sure what else could have evolved from that. ]

You're not a machine, are you? [ He wants to be sure. He'd hate for a place like this to meet the same fate his Earth did. ]

Air having its own waves? Not wind, though. More like sound? [ He's trying to figure this out. ]

[She thinks about it. She's not a scientist, and she really only has one particular released video to have any idea about the truth. But that's complicated. So.]

It's... more like energy?

Whew. [ That's all he needs to know. For now. Though he should probably mention why he's so persistent about it, since he seems to have struck a nerve. ] Machines were the enemy where I came from.

So... energy that can't be harnessed without the proper technology? Is that right?

[She thinks of type Zero and type theEND. theEND saved her.] We had some machines, but they weren't enemies. Humankind was far worse on its own.

And yeah, I think that's about right? Otherwise things wouldn't operate correctly. [For the most part.]

You dealt with humans too? [ Machines are much less interesting than that. ]

I see. Unless you have some kind of schematics, I don't know if the same could be done here.

Uh, yeah, why? What've you dealt with? [Because this is "getting" weird.]

Machine lifeforms and other androids. The humans had left Earth.
