Have you already had an unfortunate encounter with an unusual creature? Something that lured you in with the voice of family or friends? A thieving sepht making off with your valuables? Did something injure you? I would like to hear of it.
This is a bit more unusual, I suspect, but I would also like to hear of it if someone here from your world has memories that do not line up with your own. Not mere cases of he-said-she said, but something more... verifiable. Perhaps one of you bears a scar that the other knows should not exist?
[ Ongoing but closed to new threads. Thanks! ]

Want to hear the going rumor?
[ Well, brace yourself. Because Dazai is going to spill the beans and tell you anyway. ]
A little bird said it had to do with time.
You and your buddy, amigo, friend - are from different periods in time, more accurately.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
If we were rescued from our worlds right before they went ka-boom...
How can someone else we know have memories of future events?
Things that haven't happened for us yet?
[ Welcome to Conspiracy Theories: 101. Please break out your tinfoil hats and pray none of the Powers That Be are spying in on this conversation right now. ]

For an example, a particular one-time event leaves a permanent magical scar in a person's hand. I have met a person here who has experienced that event, bears the precise scar, and knows me as though we have worked together, but it is not the person I know to have lived through that event.
[ Somehow she feels a bit reluctant to bring up her other example just yet, her mind not fully wrapped around it and still feeling somewhat of a sting over the implications. ]
This is awful. I'm sorry- a classy lady deserves so much better.
That doesn't sound like you two were pulled from different places in time.
Just completely different timelines.
I don't suppose you're a science fiction buff, hm?
Read a little fanfiction on the good old internet? Those coffee shop spinoffs are pretty popular with the ladies!
Alternate realities are all the rage in those.
If these beings can save entire planets, and there are an untold number of worlds to save, who says you and this person aren't from exactly the same place-
Just a different reality.
[ Dazai is a horrible layabout, and may have caught wind of some vintage American cartoons here and there. I mean, what else is there to do when you're a hot-blooded man that's single, unemployed with zero responsibilities. Scour for cartoons on youtube like every other dude without a job, of course!
Please. Please don't give him the chance to explain the physics of Alternate Realities ala Disney's Ducktails and Tailspin. ]
i doubt she's ever been called classy before but A+ apology
I am not completely unfamiliar with the concept of alternate realities, but even the connection I have to that involves the same people in the same roles.
Is this something you have only read about? In fanfiction?
[ Whatever that is. ]
The classiest. But, yes. I've ruined this thread ala fanfiction.
I only implied I knew about fanfiction.
Through my amassed conglomeration of lady friends. And many other exceedingly friendly ladies, of course.
[ These are very different things. Don't trouble yourself, or sink to his seedy level, to figure out exactly how they differ. It's not worth it. ]
I didn't say I routinely read it!
But just between you and I - Nakahara Chuuya writes the most graphic stuff.
Really filthy. And he lives right here among us refugees!
Everyone should ask him to share his dirtiest stories.
[ Don't mind Dazai. He exists to ruin an old
rival'scolleague's reputation and destroy their social life. But all absurdities aside - the lady has a problem, and fixing those is kinda-sorta in the vicinity of his previous job description. So he does have a knee-jerk reaction, built partly of old habits and older promises still, to sincerely try to help. ]Wrong as it might seem, I'm guessing this AU business isn't something anyone can exactly 'set right' in terms of your reality.
Or explain. At least I can't.
Unless there's more to this story that might shed some light on things.

Apparently you survived well enough. Were they venomous?

their fangs dripped what looked like venom, but i wasn't bitten. hard to confirm.
i'd imagine the mimicry's good bait to lure you in for a sound biting.
when you heard the voices, you never found the source?

I had a run-in with those spiders in the forest on our way to Olympia. They sounded like my little brother, who's still asleep.
The other person from my world isn't from the same time as me. He doesn't remember things from the past two years.

And this person who arrived directly from your past: do his memories otherwise align with yours?

So far they have, but honestly we haven't spoken much about the details. There have been other things that we needed to talk about first.

I would be curious to hear more if you discover that your past is not quite the same as your friend's. You need not share anything deeply personal if it comes to that. I simply wonder how common this is and what, if anything, might have caused it.

I've heard some people talk about other universes, places where many things are the same but just as many are different.

But he said it was all about different worlds on bits of paper, but one gets ripped up before the other.
None of it really made sense. I'm afraid the poor chap may have been a bit mental.
