[Moira is currently enjoying a cup of tea at the place she's taken up residence at. There's not a lot to see in the way of personal touch, largely because she's not showing that to anyone with the camera. Instead, it largely focuses on her, her red and blue eyes looking curious as she makes sure she's in focus before speaking. She couldn't possibly have this in poor quality now can she.]

Good evening. A matter has come to my attention that I have found myself rather curious about.

[Among many things given the way things have been going this month with the ghosts.]

Not that long ago, a fair few of us took part in the training simulation provided to us. Through it, we were given powers or abilities. Now, this is something one would believe to be left behind in the simulation but it would appear that is not the case.

[Something she is familiar with since she appears to be among the number of those with a new ability.
Which brings her to the heart of this matter.]

And so, I would ask who among you has obtained new abilities through this simulation? If you have then I would also be curious to know what you can do now with these abilities.

Not during the simulation, but I seem to go to pieces under certain circumstances after a stint in cryostasis. Not the same, but you know, probably no one cares.

On the contrary. I think you will find that I care a great deal and would be interested in learning more about what you mean by you go to pieces.

I sneezed glass once. I've had my bones pop out of my hand at least twice now, but they aren't normal. It's great fun to experience.

No. I'll figure it out by experimentation on my own. I mean, what's the worst that will happen?

I could name everything that would qualify as "the worst" but it would merely be a waste of time for the both of us.

Rather, I would like to offer to be there when you do these experiments. As a geneticist, I have dealt with matters of unusual developments in the body. There is also the matter of me having medical knowledge which could allow greater testing of these abilities of yours while allowing you to recover faster. Perhaps on the spot depending on the situation.

The insight would be beneficial to you as well as to myself.

I thought geneticists were skinny people huddled over a work bench or a PCR turtle all for the name of science. Do they actually do gene therapy in your world because mine sure as hell hasn't jumped the 'morality debate'.

I think you just want to be amused with bones coming out of me that I can probably use as weapons.

I am not quite sure when it started, but it seems as though I have some... connection with plant life.

[A connection to plants? That could mean a great deal but if it's new then perhaps it could have to do with this matter.]

Did you visit the simulation rooms for the recent training?

I did. However, as far as I can tell, these powers did not manifest until later.

[That doesn't mean she didn't get them from there, just they were either dormant or too small to notice until later. The thread was with a character who didn't get into the game so it's debatable how canon it is.]

So there is potential that the simulation was the cause.

I would like to learn more about what your new connection with plants entails exactly. What does this entail exactly?

It seems as though I have the ability to transfer my energy into the plant life around me, causing it to grow at an exceptional rate. Or in some cases, create life where there was none.

That's how it appears, anyway. I'm not yet sure the full extent of these powers.

[Living in a tree house, playing with plant life gets a little dangerous.]

Perhaps we could meet and look into the extent of your powers together. It could be useful to have someone with you to catalog the results.

[ I would not call them magical. However, the answer is yes. People have been granted new abilities. ]

Huh. I mean, I've heard of people who were refugees learning things over time, but this was the first I've ever heard of them simply 'appearing'.

And you say it was the simulation training that had caused it to happen? Up on the Orbiter? I thought they were just rooms which just project situations and environments, how could something that's meant for training give people permanent powers?

[He was probably asking the wrong person, but at this point, his own curiosity was absolutely intrigued!]

That seems to be the common factor. Those that went into it obtained a power in the simulation. When they left the simulation, the power remained. Such a matter is unusual for a program meant to be used for virtual reality to it has captured my attention.

[In other words, she doesn't have answers yet. So she wants to see if she can find some.]

How strange. I mean, that's not how 'simulations' should work. I mean, if that is the case and the simulations hold physical repercussions wouldn't that mean that they're no longer simulations? Doesn't that mean that we are simply working our way through some sort of false reality with very real physical capabilities?

Wait.

Do you think it's possible for people to get seriously injured in those simulations? Like, actually hurt. Not just simulation hurt.

[It's almost tiresome how he is simply stating all the reasons for why she's asking these things in the first place. She's well aware of the fact that simulations shouldn't have real world repercussions, after all.

In the end she's simply left sighing as she types back this sassy response:]
