What would you die for?


[There's no preamble. Enjolras is not in the mood to set the scene. He's been thinking and gotten nowhere so he wants the input of others. Over his shoulder it's apparent his room a shambles, a young man living alone with his mind on things other than housekeeping.]

For myself there's a cause that I've given all my life to. It's the highest ideal I can imagine. I know that is not a usual thing. Life is precious; until I woke up here I'd have said that death precluded any second chances at it. But that's beside the point.

I ask because I thought I others shared my opinions. It is rational to give your life only for the most important ideal. Sacrificing yourself for just anything- to get any item or even for another person... [His lips pinch together in thought, his eyes look distant for a moment.] I have not been able to reconcile it.

[A quick sigh escapes him, frustrated.]

Liberty is always worth dying for. Your math is equally correct, in my opinion [ at last an opinion he can agree with, even if he's not sure what a gundam is. He assumes it's a soldier thing, since the responder mentioned protecting others. ]

Were you at war with anothere nation, that the people needed defending?

Yeah, United Earth Sphere Alliance vs. the Colonies in space, basically.

So if you wanna cut that to laymans terms, Earth vs. Space.

Why were the two at war?

Earth wanted to control the colonies totally and profit off of what they had to offer.. it took away colonist freedom and a good bit of profit (at least on my colony) and in general was not.. the greatest.

I'm sure you could guess that, though.

So the colonies rose up and sent Gundams to Earth..

A similar thing happened recently where I am from. Rising up against the oppressor was was right for them to do.

Basically taking apart space craft like Thesa and making money off of the parts / scrap metal for the shell.

Keeps my hands busy which is the main thing.

Now that Nadril is an option, yeah.

Before it was mercenary work and while that was money I kinda.. retired from that kind of thing once the war was over. But you gotta make silver to live so.. here I am.
