This isn't something that I typically find myself asking or even thinking about, to be honest.
But I suppose I'm of age now, and "of age" is a somewhat irrelevant concept when the countries and laws we come from no longer exist, isn't it?

With that said:

In our current circumstance, where might one find an alcoholic drink?

Did you... meet my friend Akko, by any chance? She was awake for a short time.

[Was.]

[sparsity]

[ Ah. ]

I didn't. Is she asleep again?

[fiendennor]

[Diana sighs.] Yes.

Somehow, it's all the more frustrating than if she hadn't woken up at all. [They'd had important conversations.]

[sparsity]

Yeah. Something feels unfinished that way.

[ Speaking from experience and maybe a little from the heart. ]

[fiendennor]

She and I had just had an... interesting conversation, too. [She says, quietly, and it's a good thing that they're only on voice, so he can't see the pink in her cheeks.]

It's vexing. So, I'm going to have a drink.

[sparsity]

[ He's not going to take a guess, not even mildly quick on the uptake. ]

I know one place, but it's noisy. There are probably others, though. Do you want to go look?

[fiendennor]

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

[A small sigh.] Maybe it's best if I just bring something back to the room I'm staying in.

[sparsity]

If that's what you want.

[fiendennor]

[The sigh is larger, this time. It's only because she knows Mikazuki that she's comfortable admitting this:] ...I don't know what I want.

[sparsity]

That doesn't seem like you.

[fiendennor]

Perhaps it isn't. [She says, sounding weary. He's right.

She doesn't know what to do, though. She wants to feel sorry for herself and wallow for a bit, which is very uncharacteristic of her.] I'm just feeling... very adrift at the moment.

Akko was important to me, and we'd just had... a significant conversation.

[sparsity]

[ It's tough, having to see someone back behind life support and glass. Hush was the same. ]

I'm not really good at telling someone what they should do or shouldn't do. Right now though, I don't think it's a bad idea to just do what you want for a while.

[fiendennor]

I'm not very good at that. [She's spent so long just living by her obligations, by the expectations placed on her, after all. Doing what she wants is unheard of.]

What I want is for her to be awake again. Like this, it's just-- it's frustrating. And nothing I can do can take that edge off.

[sparsity]

[ It's not like he is either, and he knows it. It's been a process, and the learning curve is steep. ]

It is frustrating. I used to like being able to look at the moon.

[fiendennor]

There's a simple answer, isn't it? "Get used to how things are now."

[Another sigh.] The very definition of something easier said than done.

[ If it were anyone else it would have been his default answer. ]

Yeah. [ No use in assurances, or saying the opposite. ] I hope she wakes up again soon.

I didn't think you were the type to enjoy that sort of thing. [She's touched by the offer. And a little amused.] ...but thank you.

Well... a little.

[ Don't call him out? ]

I got used to it here, after everything.

[fiendennor]

That's understandable.

[She takes a long breath.] I think, all in all, I may just purchase something and then retire to my quarters here. It's quieter.

[sparsity]

Okay. [ Sounds safer... and less noisy. Also an important distinction. ] Let me know when you're there.

[ Not that he's worried or anything. ]

I will. I can't imagine it'll take long for me to find a place to purchase it here. It's... sold at a lot of places, isn't it?

[Guess who has literally never bought alcohol in her life?]

Most general stores should have it. Bars don't let you take it outside.

[ Mikazuki isn't even a seasoned drinker but he's been around enough rowdy celebrations to know... a couple of things, at the very least. ]

[fiendennor]

Oh, they don't? I suppose that makes sense. They would want people to stay inside and drink more, after all.

[sparsity]

That's the business.

[ Though he does remember a few places he took parts to for their coolers and such. Let's see...
